  • Don’t like new update

I don’t like how you need to click “show more” in the transaction details to mark it as cleared now
  • You changed the app!

I’ve been a subscriber for 7 years. You have completely ruined the app. There are now way too many clicks to do my workflow. I have to open up submenus just to clear simple transactions. Here’s a hint: if something’s not broke - don’t fix it. Either change it back or I need to find a new budgeting app.

Been on this for 4 years now - once you get in the groove, it’s absolutely liberating. Yes, you need to stay on your transactions, but that’s how you know your finances personally. Love me some YNAB!
  • My Favorite App…EVER

I honestly can’t tell you how long I’ve been using YNAB, but I could not live without it now. I was already using a very similar method before using the app. But YNAB has not only made it easier for me to manage my finances but it’s helped me “find” money I didn’t know I had. It made planning for my children much less stressful. Made me see my husband and I could afford the addition to our house when our family began growing. Helps us plan for the expected and unexpected. It’s literally saved my financial life and taken the worry away when new things come up. To some it looks like I just spend money without care, but if they ask me, I’ll spend hours telling them I planned for it all and how they need to do the same. Any chance I get to tell people about YNAB, I take it and run with it! It’s the most important app I will ever have on my phone and will never go without.

  • Not what I expected

This app is not what I expected. I already have all the bills and amounts of them written down. I know how much I’m spending and what is coming in. I expected this app to take all my finances and tell me where I was spending too much or what I could do to spend less. Instead, this app just list everything that I already know it offers no advice or ideas, even after having access to all my finance bank account and investment accounts. So disappointed with this app truly thought it would tell me something I already didn’t know. Instead, it just digitalize everything I have written down.

  • Helping me for years

Using this app has helped me manage my money on a regular basis for over 5 years by now. It’s been a crucial tool for major decisions in my life: deciding whether we can afford a car, managing household maintenance costs after we bought a home, student loan paybacks, saving for vacations, and more. It’s like a purpose-built smart spreadsheet for managing the money in your accounts. Using this like picking up journaling habit, but for your finances. It can be life-changing and worth every penny over time. There’s an adjustment period while getting used to tracking regularly. The YNAB method is more manual than other apps out there. But, I prefer that about it because it makes me more proactive about my money as soon as it hits my bank account instead of just tracking it after it’s already been spent. I highly recommend this app if you want to take real control of your finances, pay down debt, and build peace of mind, self-awareness, and empowerment for achieving financial goals. Speaking from experience, the right tool can make a huge difference.
  • Burdensome UI Changes

YNAB user for multiple years. I truly miss when the iOS app was purely for entering transactions on the go. The UI changes over the years have forced me into only using desktop. It’s now too many clicks to enter a simple transaction. I fear it will only get worse with time as I’ve never seen them back down from a single change based on feedback.
  • It does a job

It does what’s labeled on the tin. Still have to worry about money, but it helps me worry. It doesn’t have all the features I want and the support staff doesn’t care if it doesn’t follow their flawed money management system of living month to month… but hey, I’m able to make it work well enough.
