  • Day ONE-needs help

    I have been using Day One for several years and the improvements I hoped for have not come. Why can’t we resize images within the journal page. The images take huge space on the page. Why can’t we highlight text or change fonts? When I review entries, I want to be able to see text that is highlighted, say YELLLOW, and I want to emphasize the SIZE or the actual font with changes. I use Microsoft ONE NOTE and it does all those things…and is part of a suite of software that is about the same annual price.

    Easily one of my all time favorite apps, it’s clean, well organized, easy to use and a treasured keepsake. While simplistic it still has many features that help with memory keeping from adding photos, locations, audio etc. that make digital journaling so easy and automatic.

  • Not digging the persistent nag window to upgrade

    I’m a PLUS user and bought the lifetime plan a few years ago. Now there’s a persistent nag window to upgrade in the lower left corner of the main window. I find this intrusive and heavy handed. Please remove it.

    I find myself using it’s organizational features to make it a digital notebook, full of tips and reference material gathered while researching vairous topics.

    Lost intuitivity with too many features. While app on MacOs allows to sort order of journals by simple dragging, same feature not available on iPhone app version.

    I’ve been using this app for 10+ years, and it is GREAT! Syncs superbly across all devices, and works real well. There’s something special about journaling OFFLINE, and not having all your thoughts posted to a social media platform. You additionally can create many different journals, a feature which I’ve used to create “My Reading Journey”, documenting all the books I read or listen to.

    I have used Day One every day for years. I cannot overstate its importance to me and my family. I have documented daily happenings of my children, with photos and videos and sometimes audio recordings. The fact that my children will have a record of my thoughts and impressions over so many years is a comforting thought indeed. And the encryption and security are all the more reassuring. Before Day One, I used MacJournal. Years ago, I found that I could import my MacJournal into Day One. It was lightning fast, and suddenly I had seven-ish more years of journaling right on my phone! I could hardly believe it. Since I've been journaling every day for over two decades, having so much of it digitally available in one app is priceless to me. It is my number one app of all time, and I am delighted that it gets the support it gets. I've seen its many iterations over the years and I look forward to many years to come.
