Description

UV Index Widget - Worldwide brings one of the most useful pieces of weather data, the UV Index, front and center. Use this app to track your UV exposure, help plan your day outside, and avoid burning. Perfect for planning your tanning routine. UV Index Widget - Worldwide is a convenient app that lets you monitor the Sun’s radiation levels anywhere on Earth. It shows the current UV Index, today’s peak forecast, and a 7-day UV forecast. You can add the UV Index to your Home Screen via widgets, receive alerts when UV Index reaches specific levels, and automatically log the data to your Apple Health app. The app instantly displays your current UV Index (UVI) in an easy-to-understand format. Just tap and hold to view today's highest UVI reading. You can also check the sunrise and sunset times, along with the moment when the UV Index peaks. 7-day hour-by-hour forecast: The Forecast tab provides an hour-by-hour UVI prediction for the next 7 days. My Skin: In the My Skin section, select your skin type for tailored safety tips and recommendations. You can also monitor your sun exposure and receive alerts when there’s a high risk of sunburn. Additionally, the app tracks your Vitamin D production from sunlight and automatically syncs the data to your Apple Health app. Places: In the Places tab, you can select any location around the world to see its current UV radiation and a 7-day forecast. It's a great tool for checking the UV levels at your travel destination before you head out. Widget: The app offers a variety of Home Screen widgets and Lock Screen Widgets, designed for both your iPhone and Apple Watch. Choose from multiple options to customize your experience on the Home Screen, Today view and Apple Watch. Notifications: The app alerts you when the UV Index exceeds your specified threshold, sending a notification whenever your area's UV levels surpass that mark. It also warns you when you're at high risk of sunburn and reminds you to reapply sunscreen. Apple Health app: The app automatically logs your location's hourly UV Index and the vitamin D generated from sun exposure into the Apple Health app. Open Apple Health to review your UV exposure history and vitamin D data. Apple Watch: Monitor the UV Index directly from your watch. Tap and hold to view today's peak UVI, just like in the iOS app. The watch app also features a My Skin section and a 7-day hourly forecast. Additionally, you can always check the UVI right on your favorite watch face using the included UVI complications. The app will work anywhere in the world, and is a perfect companion whether you are at home or travelling. --- Information about UV Index Widget - Worldwide subscription: -At confirmation of purchase, or following the completion of a free-trial period, payment will be charged to your iTunes account. - Yearly subscriptions are available. - Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. - Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current subscription period. - Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. I spend a lot of time outdoors, it’s very helpful to know when I need to reapply my sunscreen or when I’m at risk to burn.

I downloaded this on my 9 y/o son’s phone that is locked down and there was inappropriate photos of a little girl. It mad me so sick. I hope her parents can see it and press charges. I deleted this app immediately.

been using it for about maybe 2 years and you really get a lot without even paying. I also love the widget which is also free. and tbh I feel like it shows you more detail than apple weather app and it’s also pretty accurate I think! and yes this is not a bot i genuinely like this app and i never write reviews. would recommend!!
  • Disappointed in newest update

The fact that it only shows updated UV at the top of every hour now is disappointing and has made me stop using the app after years. Also don’t like how the update only shows whole numbers at each hour instead of decimals. I used to love the ability to see the uv at every time of the hour

Melanoma survivor. One of the most valuable aspects of the app to me was the ability to forecast UV index between hours to know when it would go above 2.0 (my self imposed limit). Now it only shows changes on the hour. Was the former time precision nonsense, or is the forecast now less precise for another reason?

I live in Florida and spend a lot of time outside. The widget is super handy so I can open my phone and see anytime what the UV index is on the home screen

I like this app so much and am happy to have paid for the widgets! It makes a big difference in estimating my exposures and remembering how important sunscreen is and when to reapply (I am very pale and have a big family history of melanoma.) You can now edit the exposure tracker time if you forget to turn it off when you stop the current session, which is great. It would be even better if you could also subtract time once you had closed out of that menu. I have one really odd problem, which is that the UV always seems to read at a time about 20 minutes ahead of when it actually is. For example, it’s 4:21 and if I click and drag the sun to 4:21pm UV is supposed to be 2. But the sun is sitting slightly ahead of that and the UV reads 1.7.
