This app is incredibly detailed and will allow you to dial in your goals. The only issues I’m experiencing are that it will fail to add a custom recipe to my diary, and sometimes the suggested food item won’t refresh. Great app overall when it works.

This has honestly been the easiest app for counting macros and calories, and it has really helped me to keep track of what I eat.

I found out about this app doing some research with Gemini Ai for tracking protein intake. I’m always a little concerned about apps because they’re usually always behind a paywall. This app lets you do quite a bit absolutely free (just be sure to close the subscription window when you first open the app, it is indeed free). It works with Apple health, it tracks your food and gives you the results of all the important information. You can subscribe to the gold package that will give you more information but the key information I was looking for protein and calories is included. The ad’s are absolutely not intrusive, you literally can scroll down and the ad disappears behind the main chart which is absolutely amazing! So far the accuracy of the database is spot on though you do have to know the measurements of what you’re eating. If you eat out at restaurants a lot this might be more difficult. As I prepare all my foods it’s quite simple for me using the free version. It also tracks your water intake, which is nice and I have another app for that but I like this one better. I’m stuck with the 8 ounce glasses when I drink 12 ounces but I can just do the math in my head to make it work, if I upgrade a gold, I can then set the size of my water glass to what I actually use. I was impressed that my transparent lab protein powder was listed and was correct. With a paid subscription to gold you can take pictures of foods and it will help identify the ingredients, not sure how well that will work. You can also use the barcode scanner with the subscription, which may be a lot more helpful to people for a quick entry. I’m really impressed with the way. The app is well laid out and I look forward to using it for years! The makers of this app are located in Canada, at least it’s not China… yet 😆 I may end up subscribing to the app, but I want to try the free version for a while first because it seems like it does everything I need it to for free. The subscription price is really reasonable too compared to some other dietary tracking apps but as usual, it would really be nice if they had a lifetime subscription price, I would have definitely gone for that already.

Finally… a free macro tracker that actually allows you to track your macros. Free version gives you all you need to track calories in and out. Gold gives you nice additional features. Every app needs this model: you get the whole cake with some ads, and premium just removes ads with bonus features. This app allowing me full access to do what I need makes me want to upgrade to Gold for the bonuses.

I was lead to believe this app was free. It is not. You do not find this out until you have entered a lot of info, including acknowledging there could be viruses etc involved. Not happy to have wasted my time.

Brilliant app, love the features on the free version, has everything I could need. But there is an unholy amount of ad spam like every three seconds which I get needing ads but maybe like some in the background rather than full screen having to wait through them yk, otherwise great though, love that I can custom set my protein/carb/fat/cal goals

The app offers exactly what I have been looking for! It tracks macronutrients and micronutrients. It breaks my diet down to its most basic compounds.
  • Clunky and Tedious

Initially this seemed like a good alternative to more popular apps. The scanner and sync worked well. However, the interface and functionality are counterintuitive, tedious, and clunky compared to free alternatives. Not worth the price.
