    App is a complete scam. Do not subscribe. Subscription does not work how they openly say it does. You cannot read through a single book without paying $300 or more. They will not refund you ever. Not even for charging you after canceling your subscription. They will make you cancel an entire bank account.

    The tags and explore genres section is broken it does not show novel in update order correctly if filtered it show the out of order in every tag and in every genre since the last update. The books are not on order for example the first one could be 1 day ago The second book could be from 5 hours ago and the third could by for 8 hours ago . I think they broke something in the new update. I have cleared my cashe I have logged out. I have deleted the app the re downloaded it and logged back in and it is still the same.

    1. As a writer you’ll only be contracted and pushed forward if you really only write romance or love novels that are violently oversaturated as is. Look at the stories on the front page: all AI slop and over half of them are about raping or having sexual relations with minors. Otherwise you’ll get the other end of the spectrum go “my character is super op” sprinkle a small amount of humor in and a whole lot of chat gpt and you have a novel. 2. This app in no way supports creativity and this ties in to #1 3. It locks the writers into horrible contracts where their not only able to not have rights to their own work but you have to keep up with two 1,000 word chapter a day or one 1500 if you miss a single day have fun missing out on a whole portion of your check missing :) 4 as a reader it’s all violently overpriced and anything that does show creativity will likely be shoved down with the few exceptions to shadow slave and once upon a time supreme magus but you’ll even see the latter and former have both bent the knee to rule 1/2 and are only moving in that direction to stay marketable on the site. 5 the pricing is extremely high especially as a reader trying to catch up on a book and is the primary cause for so much piracy and as much as I’m against normal piracy I can see why it’s done in these standard. Look at royal road or other platforms if you have an interest in these things its sad to see WebNovel take this direction over the past year as I’ve read with them for the better part of 5-6 years but the company not only developed a horrible business model but it seems like their direction is largely being led by chat gpt as is their novels. Don’t believe any of what I just wrote? Go to featured and look at each section, cheering reads, editorial picks, readers picks (typically editorial) and read off the top 10 in each section / what’s recommended :) Go ahead do it :) prove me wrong :) Web-novels practicing some interesting stuff it seems these days by thoroughly showing their support of explicit child material and corporate > creativity as they state, market is all they care about when publishing

    As someone who grew up with physical books, buying them, or borrowing from a library, paying a subscription to read a book that I don't even get to keep is ridiculous. Physical paperbacks are outrageously priced, but at least I have something to show for the money spent. A webnovel I read for free many years ago and wanted to revisit now costs me a subscription.

    I was always reluctant to try WebNovels because they seemed pretty difficult to get ahold of, but finding this app was like a blessing, now I can enjoy stories like Shadow Slave and The Innkeeper which are both really good btw. I spend most of my day on this app now lol.

  • Waste of money

    I’ve used this app for a while, and I took a little break from it. I still had over 1000 coins which is the currency. You have to either buy you a promotion. The promotions aren’t bad and it takes a while, but you can’t stack a good amount pretty quickly. They also expire unlike your bought coins that don’t. However, there is no way to differentiate between your coins and your promotional expiring coins. I went back to the app to read a couple good stories cause it’s been a while only to find out that 1500 coins all expired at once. Now they told me their promotional coins, but if you know any of their promotions or any of their giveaways, they don’t give nearly that many away for free at once so I know those were bought coins, but I can’t prove it now because they have no way to differentiate them. So now I’m out about $100 or so and I have no recourse whatsoever. Don’t waste your time with the app they pay per chapter go to something like Amazon unlimited or find the author’s Patreon directly this place will rip you off!

    The ads for this app do not provide the titles of the novels so if you actually read the chapters in the ad you are left hanging without a way to read the book

    I love this app, and I have been using it for a long time. I want to suggest a little change. I recent updates to this app, the time and battery styles were changed, and now it's really hard to see them. I suggest moving this notification to the top, where it is more visible and does not overlap with the text.
