If I could only afford to pay for one news source, The Economist would be that source.” “Great app, excellent journalism! The Economist is wonderful. The content is interesting and relevant and the reporting is superlative. Equally impressive is the drive to stay relevant by presenting media in multiple formats, from print to podcasts and short videos.” “Impeccable journalism with an app to match. The Economist doesn’t need my endorsement of the quality of their journalism. It speaks for itself. Rather, I’ll comment that their app is well-designed and refreshing to use…I love being able to easily download entire editions, listen to articles with real narrators and search for past articles.” Full terms of use: https://www.economist.com/legal/terms-of-use Our privacy policy: https://www.economist.com/privacy Download The Economist app now for trusted reporting on news developments—from science and tech to business and finance news.

Reviews

  • Leftist slop reporting

This used to be my favorite magazine (started subscribing in 1995) but it has been taken over by extreme left socialist that wish for censorship, to destroy the US and to sow lies and hate around the world. try fact checking any sampling of their articles and you will be shocked at the one sided representation of events they publish. i am saddened by what it has become. shame.

The app used the be functional and simple - now it wants to be fancy and every update is buggier. Complex UX. Downloads and play breaks. Poorly accessible UX, you name it. Also it desperately wants to prevent you to from accessing the magazine content.

This companies “reporting” contains pro neoliberal status quo. Something has to change this system of no regulation capitalism cannot stay the same

  • Poor Service

I’m unable to get somebody at The Economist to help me transfer my expired corporate group subscription from a prior employer to a personal account, so unfortunately I’m unable to pay for and access their wonderful coverage.

The Economist, once a well written conservative platform, has gone left.
  • Poorly designed App

The Economist content is great but the app is poorly designed. When reading articles from the weekly issue, it randomly goes back to the article list. Also, there’s no quick way to resume reading when reopening the app. Poor navigation.
  • Get rid of AI Narration

The AI narration is terrible. Please get rid of it. I would rather see how many articles don’t have proper narration, and skip them, than have the terrible AI voices. I don’t pay nearly $20 per month for AI voices diddling through sentences structure with the grace of a hippo on a unicycle
  • Stop with AI voices

AI voices on weekly edition are awful. I often have to skip these articles that I pod for. Not worth it. Please stop.
