    I was enjoying the app until I was overcharged. I purchased the 9.99 membership and was charged 29.99. Then the next day I purchased a 9.99 coin pack and was charged 24.99. If this is not corrected I will delete the app.

    This is finally a reading app I can get behind! Chapters are actual chapters and not 2 pages of bs and then you have to pay an absurd amount to continue reading. I love the option of unlimited access upgrades!

    I of course got an ad for a book where I read half of it in the ad, downloaded because I wanted to finish the book and quickly realized I spent over $30 to read a book that wasn’t worth $15 if it was printed with all of the grammatical errors, but there’s a second book! So I paid for the membership, got my first stipend of 3,900 coins and they were all gone in a matter of minutes. It costs over 100 coins for some chapters and you only get 15ish coins a day, so getting 1,170 coins a day sounded great. Except you don’t get that many coins a day at all, it says clear as day multiple times that the daily check in is supposed to get you 1,170 coins, but you only get your original amount plus 39, so, like 50ish coins. You have to read a chapter a day or a certain amount of time each day to keep up with their goals to get more coins, but you can’t read more without spending more, so either spend $100 a week or just don’t download this app.

    On February 22,2026 signed up for the service, which advertised a 30-day free trial. However, I was surprised to see that I was charged 49.99 on February 23,2026 , which occurred before the end of the 30-day trial period. Additionally, I canceled my subscription on before the trial period ended, yet I was still charged. I would like to request a refund for this charge, as it does not align with the terms of the trial offer.

    JoyLit is still not uploading coins when you purchase them! The app has been updated and it is still not working properly. This has been going on for over two months and it is getting really ridiculous! I purchased coins again today and still have not received them.

    Do not buy the unlimited free reading! Thankfully I only bought 1 day unlimited free reading but each chapter STILL cost me coins! When my coins ran out I didn’t get one chapter included in this so called unlimited reading! I’ll be deleting the app once I finish the book I’m on.

  • Chapters are locked after you’ve read them, so if you don’t pay for unlimited access.

    Some stories are good, but many are lacking and need serious editing. But what bugs me the most is that the chapters you’ve already finished reading get locked, if you’re not consistently paying for the unlimited access option. It can get very pricey. I wanted an app so as not to keep buying physical books, but I guess I will have to go with another app.
