  • How are short stories not included in the unlimited memberships?!

    Paying $25 per week to read unlimited novels and yet the short stories aren’t included?! We have to pay additional for that? This app charges so much to read 1 novel. You could literally buy 10 books in order to complete 1 novel. They don’t even give you enough for bonuses to unlock 1 chapter. You can unlock 2 chapters free each day by watching ads. The only reason I gave this app 2 stars is because they have good stories. Time to cancel my membership and look for a better reading app. I gave this one quite some time but I’ve spent too much to read online.

    Just paid 29.99$ for monthly subscription and now the app won’t complete downloading on my phone. So I can’t read anything just the circle of death. About 3 months ago I closed out everything with joy read because of stuff like this and I saw where several things had been fixed several of the glitches gone. Nope it’s the same. Can never get anyone in customer service to help you either. Oh well I’ve been stupid for the last time

    Absolutely no customer service, I’ve been seeking help to cancel my subscription for over a week since it’s not appearing in my Apple subscriptions and I’ve been left in the dark every time. Do not subscribe ever!!

    I have a problem with the app deleting all of the books that I had already paid for. I explained what had happened but 48 hours later I am still waiting to hear from the specialist to get back to me. Original contact is with an AI program. That las contract was 5 hours ago and the still have not connected to a specialist.

  • Great Reads, Confusing Costs

    The stories are great. But, the costs are very confusing. I buy 700 coins and get what I thought was a chapter that was supposed to be 39 coins and at the end of that chapter I only have 32 coins, so that's confusing. I wish that they would make it clearer what exactly you're buying and what the actual price is. It's very clear they are trying to encourage people to subscribe rather than simply buy individual lots.

    Joyread has some good stories but to earn free coins you must do 3 online articles and some of the links were not safe. My browser stopped loading those links due to security reasons.

  • Not fair with rewards

    I am a new user to this App and I have done a fair amount of reading, etc. but it seems I cannot get the rewards I am due unless I sign up with my email. I do NOT wish to do that. I have many reading apps and NONE of them require you sign up to get the rewards due for actually using the app. I think it’s shameful and because of it I may not finish the book I am reading. I am still thinking about it. In any case, if I decide not to finish the book, I will definitely delete this app. Rewards should be given regardless of signing up. I’m spending time and money.

    HORRIBLE app. I started reading a novel and decided to pay to read more. At the time, it gave me the option to pay 39.99 for unlimited reading for one month. I bought 9.99 of coins instead but that was only enough for 1/10 of a book. But I was invested by that point so I was like ok I guess I’ll get the subscription. But the option was replaced with a much more predatory coin membership. I logged out and as a guest, I could see the reading membership again. But now it was 79.99 for one month! They are scamming with this app. I found the same story for free online by just googling the title. DO NOT DOWNLOAD.

    I love the stories on here. They’re entertaining and written very well. So, the stories are great, but… I wouldn’t waste your time unless you want to spend the next 5 years trying to unlock every chapter in just one book. The book I’m currently reading is 400 chapters and costs 20-30+ pearls/coins per chapter. The chapters are extremely short and should costs 5 pearls/coins max to unlock. Or they should offer watching one ad to unlock one chapter and even then I bet the ads will be longer than those chapters, but I’d rather deal with that. They offer a monthly subscription that costs $40 the first month and then $50 every month after. Or a quarterly subscription (every 3 months) for $80 your first payment and $100 every month after. Or an annual membership that costs $160 your first month and $190 every month after. Mind you, those subscriptions don’t include the short stories. You have to pay a separate subscription to get those. You can also buy pearls/coins to unlock chapters, but those prices are also outrages for how many chapters you can actually unlock with them, compared to how many chapters there are. Their cheapest coin/pearl pack is only $2, but you only get about 262 coins/pearls. Which unlocks only about 6 chapters before you’d have to buy more. You can also do articles/videos to earn pearls/coins, but it gives you very little each time. So unlocking one chapter takes like 20 minutes. Basically they have great stories, but… ultimately it’s up to you if you want to break the bank, spend a ridiculous amount on a subscription, or just say screw it and find another reading app. Novel Flow, Wattpad, and Freewave are good reading apps that I’d recommend. You don’t have to spend money on any one of these and they’ve got pretty amazing stories.
