Edit: played some more. Difficulty of later levels is much more balanced. Early on, you basically never see the bad guys because they die before they even get onto the screen.

There is a lot of grinding involved. Drop rate for dimension stones should be tripled at least.

Shirt review. Gameplay is choices and some tapping. Art is fantastic. Game plays even offline. I enjoy it. I think it’s worth the price point and would like to see more from these devs.

I have played both Dungeon Maker and Dungeon Squad, and both are high quality fun. Great art and pixel design make it very enjoyable for connoisseurs of culture. I personally would love to see the devs to make their own twist on a Vampire Survivors-type game with the characters of the Dungeon series! If you’re listening devs, I would absolutely dump a bunch of money on it!

First off, be ready to lost your saves if the game closes. Between waves the game says it saves, so imagine my surprise when the app crashed and I had to restart the run from the beginning again. Other than that, it’s a fun game though it would be nice to have an option to dial down the provocative images. Definitely worth the few dollars and maybe the season pass. This is a bit like a tower defense mixed with roguelites, where you buff up after each wave/level and pick your power ups as the enemies try harder and harder to break through your defense (the guardians you start off with and expand on). You don’t get to place traps or units, though, so it’s more tapping the screen frantically to protect your base and take out the heroes attacking you. Another con is there’s almost no explanation on how to play the game, so it’s definitely trial by fire. If you’ve played similar games, though, where you pick power ups as the run/exploration/etc., then you’ll likely get the hang of it.

The price is settled around 24$ or something for all the quality-of-the-life purchases. It’s not much compared to gacha games and card games . 120$ to max out a character in gacha games is considered “cheap”, and usually it costs around 100$ to build a competitive deck in card games. I just quit both genres because the metas are too costly to catch up. Overall this game is not expensive, plus you support an indie company who will bring more good games in the future.
  • Great game a bad taste in art

The game has unneeded over-sexualized pixel art that almost made me not buy it. Other than that the game loop is fun and the updates have been often enough to keep it fresh.
