    I was too young when I first created a GroupMe account and then when I was finally old enough to use it, it wouldn’t let me create an account so if I wanted a new account, I would have to get a whole new phone number

  • Constant “your friend has joined” notifications

    Suddenly, the GroupMe team decided to notify me at all hours of the day that random people on my contacts list have joined. I tried turning off the notification and I continue to get it. Obnoxious.

  • Love the app but newest update is not good

    I use this app daily to keep track of many groups. It has been super helpful & user friendly for all ages. However, the newest update took away my pinned icons & instead put them in a list that looks like the regular list. It has also made it harder to find the correct group to click on & moved my regular list of groups down too low. I am also not getting any notifications of DMs anymore, only group messages. I also don’t like that you can’t edit messages after a specified time period since I use the topic tab for some groups with lists that get updated frequently. I now have to post a whole new updated list every time instead of just editing the current list. I know for some this may be exactly what they want & I can see why, but for me, it is just not what I was used to doing.

    This app is great for what I am using it for, but there are problems that lie elsewhere. There’s no filter for what you can send, and no filter for what can be said. You can join a group chat full of people that you’ve never met, which is sometimes fun, but I joined a group chat called “the guys” and it was a ton of nudes. In a different chat, the chill guys 2.0, was fun at first but turned into a ton of people trying to find someone to have sex with. There’s no way to set parental controls or boundaries and you could join a seemingly harmless group and be scarred.

    This app is amazing but not safe it has millions of predators on it and i actually experienced an unsafe situation and came in contact with a predator now I can’t trust anyone on there and have blocked all my Social Media apps from me I had to get the app to join a group for church don’t get the app unless you need it for something if you read this and do what I say you will thank me later (Developers and Parents please read)

    The update doesn’t have topics, won’t let me edit or delete my messages, no call or voice note, the reactions are limited to a heart, and when I tried to report a bug on the website it said that it was not open hours even though I looked at the hours and it was.

  • Causes Springboard Crash Loop in iOS 26

    The notifications from group me are written in old iOS 9 code and are easily prone to cause Springboard to crash over and over again. Horrible. Can get you stranded with a dead phone really fast!
