    Every time a change has been made to the app, I’ve contacted customer service and they’ve ALWAYS helped me figure out how to navigate. In many cases I just needed to change a simple setting. This app has become my “go to” for sermon prep and Bible study. It’s super easy to use and saves me tons of time, giving me the ability to copy and paste cross references—with the reference (book/chapter/verse) included. I use tons of cross references in my sermons and this has been my default Bible app for preparation. HIGHLY recommend!

    For those old enough to remember it, my first and favorite Bible app was WordSearch. Alas, it was bought out by Logos and retired. I’ve tried several since then, including Logos. If you MUST have 8 million books in your Bible app, go with it. But I love Olive Tree for its simplicity and affordability. There are only two features in WordSearch that Olive Tree lacks. You cannot tell it to search for verses that contain X but do not contain Y. I found that ability in WordSearch priceless. I also liked that I could search for a word or phrase and then cull the list, deleting out the hits I don’t want before copying the list and pasting it into my word processor. Hopefully someday they will add those features, but I’m not holding my breath.

  • Used to be great. Now it is buggier than ever

    New bug as of (5/2026) even with latest update 8.0.15. If I leave the app open overnight and Mac goes to sleep, the app logs me out and requires me to log back in. So annoying, please fix this. I have used the Mac desktop version of Olive Tree Bible app for probably over a decade and trusted the reliability of it. But the last few updates are so buggy. Crashes, and now when taking the app to the top of the window to take up the whole screen (not the green button for Apple’s version of full screen) but just pinning the top bar of the app to the top of the screen and it takes up the whole desktop area. Then when clicking on drop down to choose a book of the Bible it takes the app back to the small size. I have to repeat the process over. I dont want the app to go back to a small window size when I click the drop down or even the top bar of the app for that matter. If I manually drag the app corners to take up the whole of the screen, then there are no auto resize issues. Guess that will be my workaround until it gets fixed. Perhaps this is a new issue due to MacOS 26.x but please update and fix. Thank you (If it helps, I am using an iMac, M1, MacOS26.2)

    The is a great tool to study and learn more about God. Not only does it offer the Bible, but many other references for on the go as well and Bible study. It would be hard to bring all these references books with you.

    I have enjoyed learning to use this great tool. I started losing my eyesight about 5 years ago and this has helped me continue to learn more about God and His love. While this program could be improved where it intersects with the VoiceOver screen reader, it still has a lot to offer.

    I have been a user for two decades almost daily. I doubt I still understand all the features, but the ones I do I appreciate. I am a user of those additional texts that tie into the scriptures automatically to the point that it significantly affects my decision to buy a reference book if it doesn’t tie in. I am an amateur linguist and especially enjoy the greek texts I am able to use. I primarily use this off my iPad. I am a lifetime biblical student and not a professional pastor.

    I have been using this app since 2014. I have compiled so much notes and I have had some great deep revelations of God through His precious Holy Spirit as I read this bible app. It has been always my go to everyday since then except for certain days but it’s my go to app and I have had for that long. I love to write down everything God shows me and so I love all the writing features you guys have in here. I love simplicity and so for me it has been a great experience to just click note and write or if I want to write something within the scriptures I have that option too which I absolutely love. I wish though that the notes within the scripture has a separate place to go to, because I didn’t really like it when it gets pushed into my side notes. My side notes are always in order and I like that way for a reason because then I can remember what God spoke and when at what time. My scriptures notes get sent over there and then I have to scroll and open each one to see where I last left my side note if this makes sense if not it’s totally ok because I still LOVE this bible app. Quick testimony, I got into a car accident and was praying for a new car, went to car lot, picked an suv white truck but was still a little hesitant, I walked to back looking over the car, and at the right hand side of the back bumper was a sticker of a logo tree that looks exactly like the logo tree on your bible app and right there and then I knew inside it was Gods sign to me that this is the car for me and it was going to take us places and it sure has! Anyways thank you guys for the work you guys are putting into this marvelous wonderful app because I absolutely love it so much!! I pray God continues to use this app to reach millions, trillions in precious Jesus name! I pray He blesses you guys with godly wisdom and life abundant in His name I pray Amen!
