This is one of the very few apps I’ve installed randomly with zero regrets whatsoever. As a public transit champion, I honestly feel that Transit has genuinely made public transport more fun for me. Its GO system not only helps me keep better track of bus lines than the transit authority’s own trackers, but allows me to help others track where the bus is in real-time. Climbing up the leaderboards encourages me to get out and ride more every month, which is always a good thing. The app is friendly, easy to use, and honestly quite fun. The app is not owned by a massive super corporation, so there is a subscription fee for all the features, BUT depending on where you live, your transit authority may offer you a free subscription for their lines. I’d say give it a try! It certainly has helped me, and I think it can help you too!
  • UI leaves almost everything to be desired

Very unfortunate that this is basically the only alternative to google maps if you take public transit because the user experience is absolutely dreadful. Random zoom ins, trying to pinch to zoom out leaves the trip entirely, and their entire ‘points and scores’ concept (or whatever it is) is stupid and just clutters up the app for those of us who simply want to know how to get somewhere and when to leave. Wish someone would just dupe google maps and then sell it to me rather than harvest my data, but this is not the replacement I was hoping for AT ALL.
  • good but needs some improvements

overall good, but if they removed the “scheduled” ones from showing up, or at least made them disappear when it’s clear that the bus doesn’t actually exist, i would give it 4.5 stars

This app works much better in other cities. Unfortunately it doesn’t work very well in mine. Late buses don’t have ETA’s on many routes, so you don’t know if they are cancelled or late. I have had buses that were cancelled on the app show up, and buses that weren’t cancelled not show up. Service is spotty. Some routes show reasonably accurate info, and with other routes it’s impossible to tell what’s going on, or if a bus is even coming.

Please do not download this app for the free trial. They charge you for the annual plan even if you cancel well before the free trial ends. They will still charge your card anyways.

I used to rely on this app so much when I was commuting everyday. I had to move for family and now that I am back in NYC I have to commute all the time and this app is now a paid subscription. One of the most amazing features of it was that anyone and everyone could use it and you could go anywhere on the map to check the schedules of anything you are gonna be connecting to but now you have to pay for that. It’s just ridiculous honestly and I’m very disappointed in the direction this app has gone.

only useful in rush hour. when it relies on schedule info, it’s wrong. says next is in 30 minutes, it’s there in 15. next one it says is in 2 hours. bus web says 30 minutes.
