  • Busted & Overpriced

    I love data. Withings provides a tool to collect that data. However the products themselves are severely overpriced for how broken or glitchy they are. Either they’re built cheaply or built to fail. Clearly you’re trying to push people to buy warranty protection plans or you just hope consumers buy another model. In this economy, good luck with that! Just get a $10-$20 dollar scale on Amazon and use a free health app to log your weight. The manual effort will still be less than trying to troubleshoot the issues you will have and good luck with their non existent support.

  • Fails to synchronize

    Almost daily the scale does not synch. There should be a way to force a synch. Tech support is no help As they gaslight you. Look for a different company.

    It asks me to update my profile, I update it, but it won't save so I'm stuck in a state where I cannot use the app. I guess the next blood pressure monitor I buy will be from a company that doesn't lock out customers. Absolutely unacceptable.

    I bought a scale to track my weight. I installed the app to go with the app. The app makes it impossible to find my weight. There are dozens of other measures and factors. Most are of little value. They are poorly explained and you have no real idea how they are calculated I want a simple graph of my weight. Why does my scale and its app fail to provide.

  • Required profile update makes app useless

    I loved my Withings scale for years but a forced profile update in the app has made it useless. It won’t let me use the app or see my previous data without updating my profile, but when I try to update and click save, it only tells me “Please try again”. Now the scale is useless for tracking and I’ve lost my previous data. I saw online that the issue has persistent for months without Withings fixing it.

    The app has degenerated. It now has an alarming “vitality” indicator in the upper left corner of the app screen where if you hadn’t got enough sleep, or your heart rate was a little bit high, it would turn red and say your vitality was low. If you click on it, it tries to pitch you a reoccurring subscription. Seems like every company is doing that these days. Using fear to generate revenue is a pretty scummy way to try to make extra money. It’s a beautiful watch, but when the battery dies after 3 to 5 years, they suggest that you recycle the watch. What!? I paid $500 for this watch and they want me to throw it out when the battery dies? Do they expect me to buy another brand new watch from them? This is extremely poor business sense. To force me to buy a new one? Who is the moron in charge of the business and marketing department? Trying to maximize profits over customer loyalty? If I bought a Rolex in the 60s, it would still function 65 years later. Withings needs to do better to win the allegiance of its customers. A $500 watch that lasts a couple years and then when the battery craps out the watch has to be disposed of is total BS. No watch repair shop in my town will touch it. Nor will Withings.

    There is hardly any thing left to see in this app after they are moving all content under a paywall plan. I bought a Withings watch, however month by month they are stripped all content out of the free app. This app was useful for a while, but now it seems they just collect all my data and sell it to someone else.
