  • Great product, but seriously lacks accessibility for the Blind

    I absolutely love this device. Don’t like the app as much as I like the device. Why? Because I am a Blind iPhone user using voiceover and this app is terrible with voiceover. All I can do is get the transcript and send it to another LLM because the built-in features are inaccessible to those of us that are using voiceover. Pretty please with sugar on top, respect us as consumers, many of us are using this device in spite of its shortcomings. However, it is getting a little frustrating whenever you come up with really cool features that we can’t use. I hope that this does not fall on deaf ears. This is definitely something that I use each and every day as a busy executive. I was disappointed when I found that the app was so inaccessible, but the device is just amazing. Please please fix the app for us Blind folks. Update after developer response: To PLAUD’s credit, the company did respond directly to my accessibility concerns and stated that they have forwarded the issues to their technical team for consideration in future enhancements. I appreciate that response and hope it leads to real improvements because this product has huge potential for blind and low vision professionals. That said, the accessibility issues are still very real today. The hardware itself is fairly usable because of the physical controls and simple recording workflow, but the iOS app still has problems with unlabeled buttons, visual-first features like mind maps, inconsistent VoiceOver navigation, and areas where important status information is not exposed accessibly. For blind users, this is not just a “nice to have.” The entire value of a product like this depends on being able to independently: - Start and manage recordings - Generate transcripts - Navigate summaries - Export and share content - Understand recording and sync status - Use AI features without relying on sighted assistance I would strongly encourage other blind and low vision users to leave honest reviews and contact the developer directly. Companies often underestimate how many blind professionals, students, podcasters, attorneys, executives, and content creators are using products like this unless the community speaks up visibly and consistently. There is a real opportunity here for PLAUD to become one of the most accessibility-friendly AI recording platforms on the market, but that will only happen if accessibility is treated as a core product feature rather than an afterthought.

    This app is amazing. Great summary of meetings, interviews, etc.. Creates a to do list. Recommend to anyone on the go and with a busy schedule.

    I depend on Plaud very, very much in Business Development. Being able to go back and reference conversations days, weeks, months; etc. after they originally happened is priceless to build relationships and deals over time. I have a complex and technical sales process, and being hands free in note taking helps my personal style very much. Do yourself a favor and go Unlimited on the plan as you’ll eventually burn through even those 1200 minutes per month!

    I’ve noticed only a few errors which occurred at the ends of calls where nothing was said but the mic was on. For instance one auto generated note highlighted that someone couldn’t swim and made that a primary part of the note. Not only was this not mentioned on the call, when listening back at the time stamp there was complete silence. This gives me some pause as to how effective this will be for professional purposes.

    This is the last professional tool you need in your arsenal today. Excellent transcriptions, recording functions and so easy to use. I started with the more than generous free option. Well, more generous would be appreciated BUT they give you ample features to decide if you need more or if you’re cool with the free plan. You don’t k ow u til you do and they give you plenty of resources to try and decide what’s best for you
