  • Paywall trap

Can’t even test features to verify if they even work well unless you pay first. Not one tool on the app is accessible for a trial run without having to pay first… & do I get a refund if it doesn’t work on my network? Probably not. Paywall trap. Hard pass

According to the directions in the box, “the application is free to use. The cloud service is completely optional “. This is INACCURATE. I can not proceed with setup until I pay a monthly (very high fee) or a yearly (moderately priced fee). I have reached out to the company concerning the fact I can not access the camera until I pay the fee. If I receive a reply, I will update my review :((

Warning stay away from this home security Camera Scanner app by Appurple. This feels like a complete scam and should be removed from the App Store. I accidentally described think it was related to my Wzye camera because of the misleading listing in icons. I canceled the scripture within the same hour after relaying there was a charge, yet I still denied a refund. After looking through the reviews, I found many other users reporting the exact same thing misleading advertisement, subscription charge immediately, refund request ignored, and customer support giving canned responders instead of actual help. One user called it a “misleading rip off”, another said it was a “$10 rip off”, and others reported they canceled emulate but still never got their money back. The app forces payment before you can’t even properly test what it does, MA user says it doesn’t even connect to cameras they expected it to work. Multiple complaints mentioned that the app appears when searching for another camera brands like Wzye, what is extremely deceptive. Apple seriously needs to review apps like this more carefully because it looks like a pattern of misleading subscriptions and refund denials. I would never recommend this app to anyone.
  • Maybe Not So Great Customer Service After All

Update: 10 days later still no refund. They asked for Apple receipt; I gave it. I followed up after a silent week; they changed email threads. I responded to both, and they asked “to express our sincerity and hope that you will continue to use our services, are you willing to accept a coupon or extend your membership period as compensation?” NO. No I’m not. I asked for a refund. I wrote a peaceful review. I submitted the requested documentation. You agreed to a refund. Please process the refund. Original review: Like many people, apparently, I accidentally downloaded and purchased the services of this app while searching for the proper app to my new security camera. I am not tech savvy, so when I searched for “Wyze App” and it loaded, I thought it was the one I needed. Note: there’s only ONE Wyze app- you’re looking for the one with a “W” icon. The good part is, instead of leaving a bad review, I contacted them and explained my mistake, and they respectfully asked me to reconsider, but promised a refund if I still don’t need it. Because of this integrity and customer service, if I ever do need this type of service, I will choose this company.
