  • Amazing app, however I prefer to get the same information for free online

I think the idea of this Oasis app is amazing, because there are a lot of really health conscious, savvy consumers, and others out there who are either quite ill, or are recovering from serious diseases like cancer and other serious long-term or life-threatening chronic illnesses who need to be much more cautious about what products that they choose to use on a daily (or even weekly) basis. Like me, many of these consumers have contracted illness, or have suffered and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket healthcare costs, not covered by insurance. So, prevention and product safety is key. Shamefully, there is no (real) government oversight that significantly protects us as consumers. We’re all on our own. In that, I respect and applaud these developers. Wish it costs a bit less, but from what I understand, it’s independent research. They deserve to be compensated. Very good app to use. For those of you who are out-of-pocket hundreds of thousands of dollars and need this similar information for free, please check out www.EWG.org. This is a non-profit website which shares awareness about consumer product safety. It’s called the “Environmental Work Group” (www.EWG.org) which has an enormous (free) database of several hundred thousand products and their (known) and reported levels of toxicity, rating products from zero (being the safest) up to a rating of 10 (which is considered to be the most toxic). You can donate to EWG.org to use their database website, but it’s not mandatory. Either way, I consider both of these sources as excellent. Highly recommend!

They are only promoting certain costco items. There are many duplicate listings for basic items. They have no accurate data for Trader Joes or Sams club. I will skip this app and instead use Yuka. I had taken a three day trial on April 23rd and asked to cancel my subscription on day 3 (April 26). The autorenew part was canceled, however my subscription dint get canceled and I requested a full refund on that day itself. They have ghosted me. Wont reply to my emails.

I like how this app gives a number while it seems imperfect it tells a lot more than the other app I used, which just did pass fail. This app didn’t miss the fact that the beef sticks I bought were from Brazil unlike the Bobby app. Wish it was a little cheaper tho

  • More sustainability app than a healthy ingredient app.

This app works really well to break down harmful and not harmful items in products talks about brand transparency etc. One thing I found very very odd is that it puts essential oils in as a negative category talking about how the essential oils get extracted. I more wanted it to in attempt to live as low-tox as I can. Sustainability is important but not main goal. Essential oils are the main drivers of low-tox living. The app has little things like that, that for me are should not be in the red categories.
  • Busy to use/limited unless you pay

Surfed around, they make it hard to use unless you pay the premium. There are much cheaper alternatives.
  • App is Nonfunctional

App needs update. There is a bug in current version that is not loading the app after initialization.
  • Suspicious ratings

So at first glance i thought this was going to help me a lot but we tested out a theory. We compared a can of Coca Cola to a healthier tea brand that I drink . The Coca Cola got a way higher rating. I feel some companies pay to have good reviews . I wanted to give this app a second chance but will probably seek alternatives.

I noticed some big inconsistencies with the information grouping after only a dozen or so. The same ingredient might be considered bad in one list but not bad or even good in another. And, they lost all credibility with me when they listed artificial colors green and yellow as good ingredients.
