Lastpass for Safari used to be good but the last few updates, there are so many issues that it’s unusable. Forms don’t prompt for login and password, even when logged in. The extension does not show any entries in the vault.
  • Better, its usable now but 1 password is better

March 26, 2026 - update, finally made the move to 1password after 11 years. Actually easier that I anticipated as 1P has a great migration feature. i would have love to have stayed with last pass but their Mac integration is horrible. Touch ID almost never worked so alot of retyping passwords. The iPhone app is solid but I’ve moved on. If I wasn’t so tied into last pass I would be with 1 password. No Touch ID on mac and isn’t great on safari
  • Version 4.151.5 broken on Safari

While the basics of LastPass’ version 4.151.5 works (i.e., it still fills in passwords), the auto log out feature does not work, and the captions for Extension Settings are all blank. Similar problems exist for this version in Edge.i
  • Constant logouts, does not load vault properly, terrible extension

I don’t understand why they can’t make the Safari extension work properly. It keeps logging me out. When I log back in, the vault does not load, so I need to refresh it, and sometimes that doesn’t even work. Sometimes, I’ll login through the extension, it opens the vault, and the app itself remains logged out. It’s a constant battle to get it to work. It’s such a frustrating experience. LastPass needs to do better with this.
  • Go Back to Old Version

Used to use this app for many years, but like the other reviews, the recent update (~2 years ago) has been troubled with issues. I need to uninstall and reinstall the extension almost monthly— LastPass won’t save my passwords, it’s such a mess. Seriously considering alternatives, because this adds chaos in having a master password vault.
  • Just doen't work

I use Lastpass on other devices (Windows & iOS) and it works fine. This Safari plugin does not work at all. Can't log in "an unknown error has occured" with no other information other than a "Dismiss" button. If I go to the vault via direct URL I can log in. "Launch" buttons do not work in the vault. When I go to a website it says there is no matching credentials even though there is. Lots of annoying copy/paste just to log into accounts. I just updated the extension that says some of these issues are fixed. They aren't. Full system reboot and updated Lastpass is still just as broken.
  • Autofill Does not Work

Autofill is not functional. I’ve cleared my cache, removed and reinstalled the extension, and changed my LastPass settings. The extension is basically unusable unless you want to copy over every username and password from your vault. Every time I log back into my account, LastPass throws an error message about not recognizing my device, even though I’ve been using it for almost two months.
  • Seems not to work at all

I use the LastPass extension on Chrome and Firefox on MacOS. Also use it on iOS. It’s got its quirks but works well. This Safari version however is completely broken. I cannot get it to fill any passwords. And furthermore, the “Launch” button in the vault doesn’t work.
