  • I can actually read

Downloads still don’t work with anything, but I am able to read much easier as long as I don’t close the app. It does not seem to transfer real well across devices still at beginning of the last chapter you were on. Massive improvement you can display by series and can sort at the same time.
  • Just use the Japanese version

Delete this app and go back to the Japanese version we had before. Stop trying to sound like moving to this app was anything but a cash grab. The only functional thing is the store, which says where their priorities are. This kind of greed has lost me as a customer.

I just downloaded the app today and purchased a managa series. I didn’t even get to start using the app or website not wven for one minute. I want my money back $7.92. Such a scam. I bet you will ask for transaction numbers or something. Well scam it is. Since I cannot find anything on the email or website or app. All I have is a screen shot of what I was charged in my email and the transaction in my account. How can I show you the pics to prove to you I got nothing after purchasing them? Please help. Thank you.

This is probably the worst implementation of a reading app ever. Considering the original app worked great with great features, this is app just copied the name and none of the usefulness. There’s no more bookshelves, no way to organize by title, genre, format or anything. If you close the app your book disappears intro a random “recents” tab and it doesn’t keep your page or position so you have to search for where you left off. Try to purchase a book from the app you have to buy coins then redeem them for books or just go to the website to get it. I’ve been using the original bookwalker for years and this new “American app” makes me want to abandon it altogether. DO BETTER

You know it’s bad when you get spammed with ads and offers while just trying to sign in. The previous app had a much more elegant form of integration with the store in the app: one tab for the store and that’s it, and you can search from there. I do not wish my Library to be cordoned off to a small section of the app so the store takes the main stage. Worse yet the store makes you buy “coins” which you can use the then buy books. This is a common way to obfuscate purchases and incentivizes consumers to spend more money. In the old version, the coins earned from purchases were a simple way to receive discounts for repeat buyers. The former traps your purchases behind pseudo-currency, the other thanks you for patronage. The new “Library” is featureless! No sorting, no Bookshelves, no charm. Even the new logo looks minimalist and lifeless. You’re telling me I have to use search filters to find my audiobooks? Fire the developers who made this version, fire the people who made the new storefront, and just let us use the old one. The other version was not broken and did NOT need fixing. The Chinese port of this app was a copy of all that was good in the original Japanese version. Tell me why English readers get screwed over with the least consumer friendly version of this service. I wanted an app to read my downloaded books, an E-Reader not a toxic storefront. And before these “developers “ try to argue that they are working on improving the app; no they are not. This app is just corporate greed puppeting the corpse of a once great service. We all know that there is no going back, and soon they intend to wipe our English purchases from the old app, forcing us to use this dumpster fire of an app. I got an email today saying such. You couldn’t even let those who prefer a better experience use the legacy version. Consumer protection is not real in the western world, and this shows.

New app is mostly better, but still has some growing pains to work through. You’ll probably encounter any issues I’ve seen yourself, so I won’t spend a lot of time on that. What I will say: new app is faster on both old and new devices, has better reading options, and I love the way you can quickly flip through a book if needed. I find it weird that the arrows at the bottom move between volumes, but for certain shorter books this makes a lot of sense. Maybe make it configurable? Having the store be better integrated into the app is nice. That said, I’ll probably try to mainly purchase books from the website, since in app is a little more confusing. Makes sense though, with the cut that Apple takes, they have to do more to profit off the app sales. I’d recommend buying from the website anyway just to support the platform better, rather than giving Apple more pocket change. Excited to see where this app goes!

The color definitely does look better and easier on the eyes in the new app. I would like to have the old sorting system back so I have have my books listed by title and have to click on it to show the volume or chapters. Also an easier method to download the books would should also added to the new app similar to the old one where I can select multiple titles with ease instead of holding then allowing a single download. If it’s possible please include a method to minimize or change the font or format size of the books because right now it’s about 3 books per swipe down and since I have multiple titles it’ll be very difficult to find or scroll through what I want. Also the favorites section doesn’t help me too much since it’s just books I put on wish list. if it’s possible to include self made tabs or extra tabs similar to Gmail it would help a lot. Hopefully more updates and changes can be made to this new app and good luck to the team. Right now I’m going to stick with the older version 3 stars for now

Logged in, migrated, and the app still doesn’t work. It’s overly complicated and there are no benefits whatsoever. I just want to be able to read the purchased books on my phone.
