Description

Remodex lets you use Codex on your Mac from your iPhone. Start Codex on your Mac, open Remodex on your phone, and pair once with a QR code. After that, your iPhone connects to your Mac through a secure paired session, so you can keep working with Codex even when you are away from your desk. With Remodex, you can: • chat with Codex from your phone while the runtime stays on your Mac • follow live replies and active runs in real time • send follow-up prompts without losing your place • use git actions like commit, push, pull, and branch switching • attach photos from your camera or library • use voice transcription for faster input • reconnect to your trusted Mac without pairing again every time Remodex is local-first: your Codex runtime, repositories, and workspace actions stay on your Mac. The iPhone app is a secure companion that helps you monitor, steer, and continue Codex work from anywhere. OpenAI has launched remote control integration in ChatGPT. It's still free.

    You were a great app!
  • Works great for both research and coding tasks

Was able to do some deep research on my walk. Way nicer than ChatGPT because we could build tools to parse inputs and create data fragments. Big unlock away from the desk. ChatGPT gets super laggy with long conversations and then there’s no easy way to ask follow up questions. Also works for iOS/macOS code. Fun times! Developer is super responsive and is adding new features based on my feedback.

Happy to pay for some forward thinking. OAI will release this eventually but this is great to use now. However I don’t see 5.5, any plans to add it?

it’s in really early stages of development it seems like… and it’s $4 to use per month when there’s free options out there :/ Hard paywall btw

The local version of Codex is truly the optimal solution. This product fulfills my need to code on my mobile phone anytime, anywhere; I hope a one-time purchase option will be introduced, and that a price reduction will be considered. I hope the updates come a bit faster.
  • Hard paywall. Immediately deleted.

Can't even try the app to see if it works without paying. Not even a free trial. No thanks. Delete. I don't care that there is an open source version that I can jump through a bunch of hoops to try. To set that up takes time and effort when I just want to try your app. Why should I do the work when you can just enable a free trial? Stop listening to whatever influencers you are following on X telling you that the way to riches is with a hard paywall and no free trial. Maybe that works with a bunch of random TikTokers, but your audience is developers and we know how this stuff works and a hard paywall is insulting and unfriendly. Especially with many other options out there, it's just bad business.
  • No problems on Windows

I have lots of repos I manage and i’m doing it on walks and away from home flawlessly, it’s works as if OpenAI made it themselves. Big productivity boost and a pleasure to use.
