Description

Borghi del Turano is the official travel guide to the three medieval villages of the Turano Valley, an hour from Rome in the heart of Lazio: Paganico Sabino, Castel di Tora and Collalto Sabino. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Explore points of interest in every village: churches, castles, viewpoints, museums and hidden corners • Listen to the story of each place through audio narratives • Scan QR codes on the information plaques to open the matching content directly • Receive contextual notifications when you approach a POI, thanks to Bluetooth beacons installed in the villages • Check ongoing events and news from the three municipalities, always up to date • Enjoy all content in Italian or English HANDS-FREE VIRTUAL GUIDE Turn on the Virtual Guide from Settings and let the app automatically recognise points of interest around you through a network of BLE beacons. Walk through the village with your phone in your pocket and get a notification only when you are actually near a POI. WORKS OFFLINE TOO Once the content has been downloaded, the app works even without a connection — handy in spots where the mobile signal is weak. Only event and news updates require an active connection. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS The Virtual Guide requires access to your location (including in the background) and Bluetooth solely to detect proximity to POIs and trigger beacon scanning. We do not collect or share your location. Permissions are requested only if you choose to enable the Virtual Guide: you can use the app without granting them and still browse content, events and news. Push notifications are optional — they only let you know when a new event or news item is published. You can enable or disable them in Settings at any time. THE VILLAGES Paganico Sabino — overlooking Lake Turano, with a compact historic centre and breathtaking panoramic views. Castel di Tora — one of "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy", surrounded by the lake, home to the evocative Borgo di Monte Antuni. Collalto Sabino — dominated by its imposing Baronial Castle, together with the hamlets of Ricetto and San Lorenzo. A LOCAL INITIATIVE Borghi del Turano is a joint initiative of the three municipalities to promote the historical, landscape and cultural heritage of the Turano Valley. Content, photographs and audio are produced in collaboration with local experts. Download the app and start exploring.
