The app is a watchOS app and a companion app in iOS. It has single purpose to provide distances to the green and maximise battery life of the watch so that it lasts a full round. For most golf courses in the world the average golfer can see the danger in front of them, especially the water 8 yards in front of the tee so why burn battery power drawing bunkers at 300 yards out. The iOS app has a simple golf course search function, sympathetic to the users country, that finds and adds courses to the device. The courses can then be sent to the watch ahead of time and subsequently removed. The app does not store any data about you or your golf, it is there purely to provide course data to the watch.
