MyMoody does not define “mood tracking” from scratch. It is built on established research in psychology and behavioral science. Research on Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) and the Experience Sampling Method shows that, compared with recalling emotional states afterward, recording how you feel in the moment, in real-life contexts, can more effectively reduce memory bias and help people understand their emotional changes more accurately. At the same time, modern emotion research is no longer focused only on whether you felt “happy or sad today.” It pays more attention to long-term Emotion Dynamics — such as the intensity of emotional fluctuations, emotional stability, recovery speed, and emotional patterns across different times and contexts. What truly matters is not a single emotional moment, but the long-term trends that are often hard to notice in daily life. Research on Self-monitoring in behavioral science has also found that simply recording your state continuously and lightly may help improve self-awareness and support more positive behavioral change. MyMoody is designed based on these established research ideas. We hope to make mood tracking feel light, natural, and pressure-free — quick recording instead of complex input; long-term observation instead of one-time judgment; helping you understand your emotional patterns instead of labeling your emotions. Because sometimes, what you need is not someone else telling you “what’s wrong with you,” but an opportunity to see your real self.
