ItemMass turns your iPhone into a playful pocket scale using the built-in accelerometer. It is a fun novelty experiment, not a precision instrument — but it is a genuinely cool way to see how the motion sensor in your phone reacts to weight. How it works: 1. CALIBRATE — Place your phone flat on a hard surface, put a known weight on it (for example a 100g object), enter that reference weight, and tap Calibrate. The app records the accelerometer Z-axis baseline. 2. MEASURE — Remove the reference weight, place the item you want to weigh, and tap Measure. ItemMass compares the new Z-axis reading to your calibration and estimates the item's mass. 3. READINGS — Every measurement is saved with a label and timestamp. Browse your history on the Readings tab, in grams and pounds. Features: • Live accelerometer Z-axis readout so you can watch the sensor work in real time. • Two-step calibrate-then-measure flow that anyone can follow. • Four units — grams, kilograms, ounces, and pounds. • Saved readings history with custom labels. • A clear "How It Works" guide with accuracy tips. • Clean native SwiftUI design built for iOS 17. Privacy by design: ItemMass collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no network access. Your readings stay on your device. Please note: ItemMass is a novelty estimator for entertainment and curiosity. Accuracy depends on your surface, phone orientation, and how still the phone is held. It is not a substitute for a real scale and should not be used for any purpose that requires accurate measurement.
