Pick a task, set a timer, and give it your full attention until the session ends. It is a quiet antidote to constant task-switching. THE PRACTICE Multitasking is mostly rapid task-switching, and constant switching can feel scattered. Deep Focus removes the temptation to jump between things. One task is in front of you. One timer is running. Everything else can wait. HOW IT WORKS - Decide on the one thing you want to focus on - Set a session from 20 to 45 minutes, in 5-minute steps - Start, and settle into a calm, single-purpose screen - Finish the session, then take a break A SOUNDSCAPE TO SETTLE IN During a session you can play a 40Hz binaural soundscape and ambient sounds, generated live on your device. It is an optional audio backdrop designed to help you settle in and tune out the room. For binaural beats, use headphones. Prefer silence? Leave it off. You can also customise the beat frequency to taste. BRING YOUR OWN MUSIC Already listening to something? Keep it going. Deep Focus mixes its audio with whatever is already playing — your music, a playlist, or a podcast — so starting a session never silences your audio. Play the 40Hz beats on their own, layered on top of your music, or not at all. TIMER ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN Every session runs as a Live Activity, so the countdown stays on your Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, in the Dynamic Island. Glance at the time remaining without unlocking your phone or reopening the app. FOCUS MODE Turn on Focus Mode and Deep Focus reminds you to switch on Do Not Disturb at the start of a session, so you can keep notifications quiet while you work. (iOS apps cannot toggle system Do Not Disturb for you — this is a gentle nudge, not an automatic switch.)
