    Stupid controls, try to skip forward past intros ot ads and this app skips to the next podacst on your list. No way yo turn these features off.

  • So many taps to add a podcast

    I’ve been a longtime fan and loyal subscriber, but some UX things seem unnecessarily complicated and really bug me. For example: it takes so many taps to simply add a podcast to a playlist. And then when you get there you have to sort through a giant list with no search box of podcasts you subscribe to.

    This app desperately needs the ability to “select all” so that you can quickly archive episode. You do not want to listen to. If you have a large library that you need to quickly triage, this is not the app for you.

    But in the last month, every podcast glitches, so I miss part of the story. I deleted and re-downloaded the app. So annoying.

    My opinion might be compromised, as I actually like full-boat Liquid Glass, but Overcast’s new look feels native and fresh to me, while retaining a familiar feel. I also appreciate the improvements to streaming not-downloaded podcasts, though the previous iteration had gotten good enough to not annoy me. Overcast remains my most-used app of all time (it’s not close) and an astounding value.
