  • Great Content with Lousy App

Shudder has a small but excellent collection of 100% horror content. This is a review of the app—not the content (which is worth using the lousy app). The app that plays the content on my Apple TV frequently logs me out and requires the usual annoying login process. This has been a problem for years that they haven't addressed. The addition of downloadable content is welcome but poorly implemented on the IOS app. Movies will delete themselves if you close the app before you finish the movie. Compared to other streaming platforms I use, Shudder is the most frustrating app in spite of its fantastic content.
  • Great Service, Awful App

I am having to unsubscribe from the service, which I really like, because the app is basically unusable. Constantly drops wifi even when no other video app of mine is having an issue, disconnects repeatedly while trying to cast to my TV and prevents me from casting with anything else until I hard restart my TV (again, something none of my other streaming apps do), never remembers where I was in a movie if I have to pause and return to it later, etc. Makes me sad, as I do love the film selection, but these issues make it completely useless to me.
  • Will not let me log in

The app logged me out and will not let me log back in. Every single time I try to type in my email, the app resets and stops me from proceeding
  • Wish it was Better

I love this app don’t get me wrong! I love that there’s something like this out there for horror fans but that being said, I wish there was more classic/popular horror movies! I find more horror movies on Tubi than I do on Shudder, and it’s getting kinda boring, I lend my account to a couple of friends and family so they can try it out and no one like it saying there’s not much to watch, but also don’t get me wrong there’s some hidden gems and bangers! But there’s a lot more of cheap. I just wish I can see like some SCREAM movies, Chucky, Friday the 13th, the Ring, etc etc something that’ll grab people’s attention! I don’t wanna unsubscribe yet hoping it’ll get better but in 3months I only watched like 1 movie on shudder and like 30 on Tubi, I just wished it was better
  • No support for Apple Vision Pro

I watch all content on my Apple Vision Pro, as nothing beats the simulated 100ft screen. Thus, streaming apps that lack support for AVP 2+ years after release are dead to me.
  • Terrible Experience

Web streaming quality is 480 maybe 720. The ios app wont even let me login, the login screen refreshes before I can put in my credentials. A failing service in every aspect… terrible tech stack all around.
  • Scam

I paid for the subscription, all content had a lock icon on it and made me pay a second time, still wouldn’t play after i did so.
  • Does this warrant the price

    2
    By Slyshotz
Pricing has gotten out of control. 5-15 dollar a year increase consistently every year. I started in 2021, passing in 2026. Might come back when price matches service instead of constant price hikes.
  • Absolute trash

Shudder's LOVELY new update won't even let you LOG IN. Ditch the app atp, just use HBO Max or Tubi
  • Cant even use the tv app when i have paid

Shudder’s horrible updates prompt my account signed in on my tv to make me pay for another subscription while I have been subscribed for monthly basis. This app can be a huge Waste of money for people who actually care about horror movies. Its stuff like this that makes Moving back to physical media alot less stressful & unregretted. Update your apps to work, theres seriously no reason for this to happen
