Description

1Password has been helping folks forget their passwords since 2006. Trusted by millions of people and more than 180,000 businesses, "1Password offers the best combination of features, compatibility, security, and ease of use" among password managers, according to The New York Times Wirecutter. == Generate strong passwords == Use the built-in password generator to create strong, unguessable passwords with a tap, then access those secure passwords on any device. 1Password works across popular operating systems as a browser extension, mobile app, or desktop app. == Sign in automatically == Autofill your username and saved passwords when signing in to websites or apps. 1Password for iPhone and iPad works with Safari and apps so you can sign in to your online accounts without the hassle. You can even download a dedicated 1Password for Safari browser extension for even more seamless integration. == Built-in two-factor authentication == 1Password can also create and autofill one-time two-factor authentication codes for services that support 2FA, so there’s no need for a separate authenticator app – and no more copying and pasting. == Industry-leading passkey support == Did you know there’s a more convenient and secure alternative to passwords? They’re called passkeys, and you can generate and save those in 1Password, too – and even use them to unlock 1Password. For sites that support passkeys, you’ll never have to generate another password. == Sign in with other providers == If you sign in to websites or apps with Apple or other providers in a web browser, you can store and sign in with those logins in 1Password, too. == Secure and organize your digital life == Faster sign-ins are only the beginning. In addition to managing passwords and passkeys, you can store credit cards, secure notes, banking info, medical records, and anything else you want to protect in 1Password, so your most valuable personal information is always available on any device. == Share anything, securely == Share passwords and anything you store in 1Password with anyone, even if they don’t use 1Password. Securely (and temporarily) share Wi-Fi details, financial information, and other sensitive info with friends, family, or colleagues to keep that information out of insecure channels like email and messaging apps. == Security made easy == Strong password generation is a big win for your personal security, but 1Password is much more than a password vault. Security features include unlocking 1Password with biometric authentication (including Touch ID or Face ID), and real-time security alerts and reporting through Watchtower. You’ll know immediately if your accounts are compromised in a data breach, so you can take the necessary action. == Travel Mode == Protect your data from prying eyes while traveling with Travel Mode. Temporarily hide vaults containing sensitive information and restore them when you’re home. == Uniquely secure, completely private == Protect yourself and your family from cyber criminals with 1Password’s unique, industry-leading security. We can’t see your 1Password data, so we can’t use it, share it, or sell it. Learn more about our security model at 1Password.com/security. == Get started for free == Try 1Password free for 14 days, then find the plan that's right for you or your business. Was charged a full year for an appI didn’t use at all…no refund, not even one cent. Even after knowing that the app wasn’t being used!
  • One of the worst apps ever

You click on your apps and ask you if you want to use your 1Password password you say yes and nothing happens then you gotta create a whole new password. It’s one of the most confusing things I’ve ever done.
  • FaceID on stopped working

I’ve used 1password since 2020 and have loved the app and the commitment to security. However, the recovery features are tedious and support is limited. I’ve used FaceID to log into my app (1password 7) for years, but it suddenly stopped working for me and none of my saved passwords associated with my FaceID work anymore. Based on the company’s FAQs, you’re basically out of luck if you don’t have both the security key and password. The lack of additional verification tools to get back into your account is not ideal.
  • Clunky not intuitive

I often have to change passwords multiple times because the prompts don’t consistently appear after you’ve changed them. I don’t know if I will renew my subscription after it expires.
  • Lifesaver after parent’s death

A few years ago, I upgraded to a family plan and took on the daunting task of getting my parents’ passwords saved since they didn’t really have a secure system. This year, my father suddenly became very sick and ultimately ended up incapacitated in the few days before his death. As the account manager, I was able to recover his passwords for my mother as she had to deal with untangling all their accounts and moving everything over to her name. Having all his information easily accessible was a huge weight off my mom’s shoulders during the worst week of our lives. I’m thankful every day for this app! Several family members have asked me about it and are planning to follow suit. Death of a loved one isn’t something anyone wants to think about, but it made the logistics of what happens after much easier for my family. I sleep better at night knowing that if something happens to me, my family will be able to find all my accounts.

  • Can't auto generate passwords for you

I just downloaded it and it told me I had 84 passwords that were two vulnerable or two week. So I went to one of my financial accounts to have it changed the password. The password auto generator does not have the ability to read the basic instructions on the password instructions for the website. Meaning it kept generating passwords that used incorrect characters no matter how many times I tried to change it. So I still have to create my own passwords. What a useless app. Such a joke. What's the point of having this. Moronic.
  • Sign in doesn’t work

I cannot sign in using QR code nor Password+Secret Key. Very frustrating.
  • Not a usable app

I use this app less than every two weeks. It does not function with facial recognition so requires a password to get in. My passwords are too complex to remember. Other apps are more effective and have become my preference.
  • Crashes trying to view previous passwords in large font, removed good capailities

Update 8.12.22 fixed nothing. Still massive and yet to be corrected fails on the newest iPhone (17 Pro Max) and newest iOS 26.5.1 (23F81). Still crashes when trying to show old passwords in big type with each character numbered. 1Password as an organization has transitioned from the scrappy, innovative upstart to the big, bloated behemoth that takes customers' money but couldn't care less about its customers. Since updating to 1Password ver 8.12.12, trying to view any entry's prior passwords in large font crashes the app. Does the dev team test before releasing? When you swipe down, it no longer opens the search field with the cursor blinking in the search field and the keyboard displayed ready to type. Instead, in order to search, you have to go through the irksome process of tapping the magnifying glass icon, tapping in the search field, then waiting for the keyboard to pull up. Fail. When it offers to save a new url for an entry, it only offers to store the new url in an entirely new entry -- not giving the opportunity to save the url in an already-existing entry. Updates are supposed to improve the app, not degrade it. On the upside, customer support is responsive as far as getting back to you in a few days, though not effective as far as fixing the problem. You have to wait for the next update and hope 1Password fixes these degradations.
