Description

Welcome to La Terminal, your mobile command center for AI coding agents. Connect to OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, or OpenClaw from anywhere, with full SSH and Mosh support for resilient, always-on sessions. More than just a simple command-line shell, La Terminal provides a fully-native, first-class touch experience for command-line hackers on iPhone and iPad. Built on Open Source: From the original developer of Midnight Commander, the open source visual file manager for Linux, La Terminal provides a comprehensive Xterm/DEC VT terminal emulator experience based on the popular open source SwiftTerm library with powerful client amenities for serious command-line aficionados. Command Search: Use Command Search to quickly find the command you are looking for. Search your own command history and our comprehensive workflow gallery to find and execute commands. Create and edit your own workflows for a variety of tasks, including running frequently used commands, automating a series of commands, or just tracking down a complex command that might be difficult to recall. AI-powered assistant: Get help writing Linux, Mac, or Windows terminal commands using plain English, such as “extract the name property inside the article element from a json file” or “list the most CPU consuming Kubernetes pods”. Eye candy: La Terminal sports a fully themeable experience accented with beautifully captivating live-effect backgrounds powered by Metal Performance Shaders. Secure Enclave: Your private keys are stored in the secure enclave so your private key can never be found in plain text. Powerful status visualizations: La Terminal’s resource monitoring tools put powerful CPU and memory use visualizations, as well as a native process explorer, right at your fingertips. Resource monitoring visualizations are accessible from the top of any connected terminal, and process explorer tools provide multiple views into CPU, memory, and disk utilization. Thumbnail snapshots show previews of connected hosts along with system load over time in the active Terminals view. Network monitoring plots data traffic on a world map to help you understand the sources and targets of connections to and from your connected hosts. iCloud for everyone: La Terminal makes it easy to switch between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac by syncing your settings and keys over iCloud - like magic! Host platform aware: Whether you’re managing a dozen Linux VMs on AWS or Azure, logging into zsh on your Mac desktop, or configuring your latest IoT Raspberry Pi project via bash, La Terminal provides the most productive experience possible on a mobile device. La Terminal is even Windows-aware to ensure PowerShell power users can enjoy a delightful ssh experience, too. International support: La Terminal delivers extensive support for international terminals, including rendering internationalized output as well as support for internationalized input methods from native iOS dictation and international keyboards. • One of the best SSH clients on iOS, file feature would be killed but doesn’t work

I’ve tried many ssh clients for iOS. I used iTerminal for a while and Prompt for years. The keyboard is just better with LaTerminal Their home grown session keep alive technology is nice; though it stopped working well, perhaps because my Ubuntu version is in extended support The real killer feature was supposed to be files, but it never works correctly. I try to upload pictures to a server and 99 times out of 100 they come out corrupt Even within the app, you can browse files, but if you as much as go to antihero app and come back, the connection silently dies and the app doesn’t realize, but starts showing all folders as empty. Really disappointing Support is non existent, even as a paid user. Apparently there used to be a feedback part in the app, but it was replaced with some AI page or something Despite all of that, I’m not using a prompt anymore and am still using this, it’s that slick

I’ve tried as many iOS terminal emulators as I could and this one is the best I have seen.

None of the tutorials work, half of the settings buttons don’t seem to do anything. No easy way to change the text size (would expect cmd +/cmd -. Also, double-clicking does a paste. I accidentally paste my clipboard into random files all the time and don’t know I did it until later, after I’ve quit my editor (vim) and there’s no longer an undo buffer. I wish there was a great terminal for vision pro, but this isn’t it.

If you’re reading these comments to see if this app does what you want, trust me it does lol. The hunt is finally over

    Quite good.
  • It’s nice, but quite laggy

This would be amazing if latency were reduced significantly, I tried using Neovim through it, but it was quite a bit too laggy. It’d also be amazing if scrolling could be made to work with Neovim. Scrolling works in the terminal, but for some reason with Neovim, it just acts like the mouse is clicked and starts highlighting text to yank.
  • Too slow to use

I don't know what makes this particular terminal so incredibly slow, but it makes it unusable if you're planning to sit down and do work. If you code from a terminal you might think that this is a solution to the inability to code on vision pro -- it's not, unfortunately. Separately, it no longer works for me -- I think the owner may have price gated some of the ssh features. (certainly reasonable -- but since I'm not sure if that's the cause of the change it bares mentioning)
  • Delightfully silly

My needs are light, but I find this client to be a joy to use. Miguel’s sense of humor shines through.
  • Lot of lag

When typing, there is a lot of lag, so much so that the app is unusable. I ssh’ed into a machine on my local network, and after logging in, there is nothing I am able to do.
