Description

Structural Evaluator is a fast, modern screening tool for engineers, students, inspectors, and technically-minded homeowners who need quick preliminary checks on houses, bridges, buildings, and retaining walls. Pick a structure type, enter its key properties, and get an instant summary of the numbers that matter — total gravity load, midspan moment, earth pressure, slenderness ratio, and automatic warnings for age, seismic zone, and geometry limits. KEY FEATURES Structure Assessment — Four structure types with type-specific inputs. Houses, bridges per AASHTO HL-93, multi-story buildings with lateral systems, and retaining walls with Rankine earth pressure. Beam Analysis — Simply-supported beam checks under uniform or point loads. Maximum moment, shear, deflection, bending stress, and pass/fail demand/capacity ratio with L/360 serviceability check. Column Analysis — Euler buckling plus yield-cutoff capacity with four end-condition options. Slenderness-ratio warnings and clear pass/fail verdicts. Photo Capture — Take photos or pick from your library for visual condition documentation, with a Core ML-ready pipeline for future defect detection. Material Library — Built-in reference for A36 and A992 steel, 3000 and 4000 psi concrete, Douglas Fir-Larch and Southern Pine wood, and 6061-T6 aluminum. Cross-Sections — Rectangular, circular, and I-beam sections with automatic computation of area, moment of inertia, section modulus, and radius of gyration. Clean Modern UI — Dark navy gradient backgrounds, amber accents, glass-style cards, and large pass/fail result seals optimized for at-a-glance reading in the field. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER Structural Evaluator is a preliminary screening and educational tool. Results are not a substitute for analysis, design, or certification by a licensed Professional Engineer. Always consult a qualified engineer before making safety-critical decisions about any real structure. What's New (for v1.0 launch, 4000 char max) Initial release. Structure assessment for houses, bridges, buildings, and retaining walls. Beam and column calculators with pass/fail demand/capacity checks. Photo capture, material reference library, and a clean dark interface.
