It’s not the newest iPad, but is running up-to-date iOS. I can’t keep the app running long enough to work at all.
  • WONT STOP GLITCHING

Won’t save a single file I create and then crashes every 15-30 minutes. Waiting for an update for almost a year now. I hate that I have to rely on this for work.

Have been an illustrator user since 88. Of all of the adobe programs this is by far my favorite. Knowing it so well it was easy to learn other programs in Adobe.

Soy diseñador desde el 2017 y hasta ahora pruebo la versión para iPad y me sorprende lo fácil que corre desde el ordenador, puedes hacer utilizar en su gran mayoría las herramientas de combinación.
  • So Inexcusably Buggy

It makes no sense that the iPad version of this is so buggy. They charge so much and have been around so long that it makes no sense. Imported photos with transparent bg end up with whatever is currently on screen imbedded in the imported PNG. When that doesn’t happen, there will be multiple ghost images of the imported PNG stuck to the top of it in its layer. Deleting and reimporting just causes the issues to cycle. I am constantly having to restart the program after each slight edit to see if I can make progress that can be saved. When I vectorize an image and return to that file later, often there are spikes randomly popping off the edges that were not there when I saved and closed. It is almost unusable. I keep checking to see if there is an update that I’ve missed for either this terribly bugged app or the iPad itself, but everything is up to date. This has been an issue for over a year at this point. It makes no sense that this app functions so laughably horrible.
  • I hate this app

Genuinely one of the most unnecessarily difficult apps I have ever used. Whoever designed this was out for blood and thrives off of torment and the struggling of others. The worst part is this is the only app my school allows. So I am stuck with this🫠 No in app tutorial, and then you go and make it the most unnavigable app in the history of technology, thank you for absolutely nothing. This app irritates me on a cosmic level.

  • Invaluable Program; App Could Use Improvement

I was first introduced to Illustrator in college for a graphics-design elective. This program has changed my life; my jobs and volunteer work (nominally) have nothing to do with graphic design yet I continually find projects that I can accomplish in Illustrator to great benefit. It’s also just fun to use (if time-consuming). All of that said, the iPad app (which I’ve used from the beginning) has always left a bit to be desired. For one, it lacks a lot of the functions the desktop application accomplishes easily. Some of this is no doubt necessary, but a lot of it seems like it would be fairly easy to implement. I have yet to encounter anything for which I can’t find a work-around, but it can be inconvenient. It’s also always been a little glitchy. Given that I’m not a full-time designer it hasn’t bothered me that much, I’ve sort of become accustomed to it. But the app frequently freezes requiring a re-start, or crashes. I just reported a new and consistent bug causing a crash whenever I attempt to rename a layer within a project. This is the first time I’ve ever experienced losing work from a crash, though others have mentioned that as a common frustration. Overall it’s a great program with nothing even coming close to the capability. Expensive, but well-worth the cost in my opinion (though it’d be nice to get both iPad and desktop access for the same subscription). Working on the app’s functionality and stability would be a massive improvement and eliminate the vast majority of criticisms.
