Most current New Yorker subscribers have unlimited access to the app as part of their existing subscription. Subscribers with a print-only subscription may not have unlimited access. App subscribers have full access to the Web site, including the archive and most recent issue. Users who have trouble accessing stories can e-mail [email protected] for assistance. Non-subscribers may access the app by starting a free trial. A subscription costs $11.99 a month or $119.99 annually, and includes a 7-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Information about our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy can be found at http://www.condenast.com/privacy-policy.

This app is so bad I’m considering cancelling my subscription. 3 out of 4 times I try to use it, the app says I don’t have a subscription (I do). I’m paying for a subscription I can’t use.

My Subscription Has servived over 80 Years, It was of most value in a war zone. The availability of truth cannot be over valued. Good writing is often hard to find and this publication is a source of both.

I like the New Yorker content. When I try to participate in things (eg captions contest) even though I am in the app and already signed in it takes me through an additional confusing sign in process that takes me to the website and not the app. And I have to repeat this often.
  • Robot voice

I generally find the content varied and interesting. Love Isaac Chotiner. Hate that they use robots to read their articles instead of paying a human. The mispronunciations and lack of emotion are distracting.
  • App stalls on opening

Since updating to iOS 26, the app hangs on the loading screen on my iPhone and never stops "adjusting [its] monocle". It works fine on iPad, other than the perennial forgotten-login issues Conde Nast sites seem to have. Miss listening to the non-AI article reads, so it's a real shame the app is broken on the phone (ftr I'm stubbornly sticking with the 13 mini, but that's not so ancient that this app should be incompatible).
  • Stopped working all together

Worked fine for months. Then, it would load Shuffalo. I deleted and reinstalled. Now, the entire app won’t load. IOS is current. Help!!
  • Beautiful but breaks

Looks and reads beautiful. But… The audio (which is a feature I love) freezes and doesn’t load all the time. And it logs me out of the app about once a month, which is maddening. The NYTimes app hasn’t done that to me once in ten years. So, beautiful, and I love the content… if it would load and not log me out.

does what I need and not more … a relief and “trusted brand”
  • Great articles but AI audio is a bummer

I agree with users that logging in and playback on articles is glitchy. Why I can’t give a 5 star is the female and male AI reader does not serve the writers well. It’s so annoying. I miss the professional narrators. There used to be a good amount of them. It personalizes the stories and makes them enjoyable. I have never enjoyed listening to audio AI
