When your hands are full, listen to featured stories read by world-class narrators. If you need a break, solve a crossword puzzle or Name Drop quiz, and flip through a nearly endless supply of cartoons. And, when you’re on the go, save stories to access them on any device, even offline. The app is free to download. Subscribers receive unlimited access. Most current New Yorker subscribers have unlimited access to the app as part of their existing subscription. Subscribers with a print-only subscription may not have unlimited access. App subscribers have full access to the Web site, including the archive and most recent issue. Users who have trouble accessing stories can e-mail [email protected] for assistance. Non-subscribers may access the app by starting a free trial. A subscription costs $11.99 a month or $119.99 annually, and includes a 7-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Information about our Terms of Service & Privacy Policy can be found at http://www.condenast.com/privacy-policy.

  • I miss the original app

All I want to do is read the magazine. The original app was great for that. What’s the point of downloading if you need wifi to access?! It’s so bad we reverted to the print edition!
  • Selective audio

Not all &-most of what you would want to read is unavailable with audio the app is not fluid user “unfriendly “ it's poorly designed and not enjoyable to use
  • Saves my place now

I had been unhappy with the app before so I wanted to credit them for fixing the main problem—the app often didn’t save your place. As for the magazine itself it’s the only reason I like having a phone as I generally read it cover to cover; it’s the media equivalent of the Clash. It’s the only magazine that matters.
  • The AI voice

I can't stand listening to AI and all the articles use the same mono tone robotic voice it's nauseating. I literally can't pay attention to the articles because the voice sounds like I'm listening to customer service AI automated prompts. 0/10 they need to use real people to read these articles or invest in more convincing AI.

Why do I keep getting bounced out as though I am not a recognized subscriber? Nonr of my other subscriptions have ever been so difficult!!
  • Technical disaster

This app is so buggy it’s shocking that Condé Nast would release it to the public. Logging in is a battle, and you have to do it all the time. It mysteriously freezes for synching. It says you’ve downloaded stories but then you can’t listen to the downloaded ones on a plane / with no service. It’s good writing but the app itself does not justify any subscription fees

This is stupid! I purchased a sub, but I can't sign in. It just can't find it. #dumbapp
  • Articles advertised don’t exist

I specifically joined The New Yorker to read a four part series called The Patient which was advertised on social media. Once I joined The New Yorker, however, the article disappeared. I was no longer able to find it anywhere. It apparently doesn’t exist. I will therefore be terminating my membership.
  • Unpredictable loading

Top Stories don’t load—even after deleting and re-installing—and sign-in has also been frustrating for me sometimes. Agree with others that the app isn’t outstanding.
  • Glitchy

This app is so bad I’m considering cancelling my subscription. 3 out of 4 times I try to use it, the app says I don’t have a subscription (I do). I’m paying for a subscription I can’t use.
