  • Obscure words in Guess Word

    I have been using this app for years. I had a 3 month streak going in Guess Word. I lost that streak because you are putting words in that are extremely uncommon. Today’s word was “bhuna”. I had no idea what that was. Perhaps if I lived I India I would. This is completely unfair. Stop setting people up to fail. And stop allowing words that you have no definition for.

    I noticed I’m not the only one that noticed the lenght and amount of ads now are very high. You spend more time watching ads than playing. So now after the 2nd or 3rd add I’m gone. Since I have been playing with several people for years I will let them know that I am quitting, so we don’t start a new game. It’s sad, but I can’t deal with the ads any more….to be clear … is the amount of ads. Too many!

    The game is fine, and I like the board more than Scrabble or Cross-Play; however, the ads and pop ups are insane. I just find myself closing the app after every turn I play because I’m just bombarded with ads, or rewards, or the battle pass, or tile styles, or whatever other bloat this game has. I just go play the new Crossplay game from NYT, there’s still ads but it’s not nearly as egregious

    When I first started playing Words with Friends, each ad I watched gave me coins. I could then use those coins to either use word radar or swap letters. I would never spend them for hindsight since there’s really no going back to replay letters. Now, however, very few of the ads give me coins. I receive mostly useless things (for instance blue snowflakes, green diamonds, a hindsight-a-day — I now have 95!) and very few coins. Please return to giving only coins as rewards for watching ads and allow me to “spend” them as I choose, rather than giving me things that I don’t want. And please make the ads close on a single touching of an X. Some ads I have to X out of several times, often being sent to the App Store or a website. 😩

    I love the gameplay. It’s fun,educational and a time passer but I don’t spend much time on it because it’s more ads than anything else.

    Too many ads, after every play. They are loud and irritating. Paying $10 a month is just not an option. My playing time has decreased significantly but I do miss it. Just too annoying because you can’t play on a break or in a room without turning sound off or headphones.

    There are ads after every single play. And the ads are long, or the ads freeze and you have to close the game out and reopen. Every time. Support doesn’t care. Clearly there is a bot or something giving this game 5 stars. It’s the worst.

    Well the awful chat feature was made even more awful. I’ve accidentally erased one too many messages and I will be deleting the app. What a shame in this day and age.

    I love playing the core game, Words With Friends. I’ve been playing with friends and family for many, many years. It’s great. I think the app itself is awful. Full stop. AWFUL. 95% of the stuff in here is completely worthless. I’m talking about all the side games, the constant notifications in app, the store, the clubs, the AI player stuff, the myriad of different rewards and currencies. It. Is. EXHAUSTING. I hate it. I hate that I can’t do anything in the app without annoying popups every 30 seconds or so. Zynga could strip out all this nonsense, fire 95% of the staff working on the game, and end up with a better experience. Think about it.
