App/widget/etc selection is pretty mid. The apps that ask you to Venmo or otherwise third party pay to use feels super weird.
  • Useless Marketing

Connect IQ is basically useless. It’s the clunky most inefficient and unintuitive software I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe Garmin puts this out and expects people to use it. Everything is designed to steer you for purchases for your Garmin. The music is available, but my goodness it is terribly designed. Once you get music on your device, you can’t manage it.

Garmin is very simple to use. I enjoy making my own clock face. If you are for something fun and creative, you found it. Sometimes simple is better 😊

This app is junk. I don’t understand how it has so many good ratings and reviews. It’s bloated with junk ‘Apps’ and watch faces. There isn’t really any way to filter for what you are looking for, what device or device type, and the search is terrible - returns a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with what I am looking for. If I’m looking for datafields for my Edge 1050 cycling computer why is it showing me a bunch of garbage watch faces? Does anyone from Garmin review the material that third party developers are adding to the store? Doesn’t seem like it. I have seen stuff in the store with things like “Don’t message me if the instructions don’t work”. Uh, what? How as a developer are you allowed to put this in the description or why is your untested product that might not work being allowed to be added to the store? While Garmin’s hardware is mostly top tier, some of the finer details of how certain things in their ecosystem work are severely lacking. Maybe they should focus more on this stuff than worrying about whether or not Strava is displaying the Garmin logo large enough in their app.
  • Works well- when and if it works

When it works well, it works. However, since the last release, the FaceIt app doesn’t work at all. Each time I try to update or change watch faces, the app hangs and the watch doesn’t update. More times than not I get a message “installation still in progress, check device later.” Why is this so difficult to update a watch that is allegedly connected via Bluetooth? Once again Garmin disappoints.

Installed the app, installed a new watchface and 24 hours later, it went away. Why? After over an hour of searching, no explanation. Terrible application. Why is it that apps just stop working with zero explanation?
