I keep my iPad on low power mode so if I fall asleep while reading, it'll turn the screen off and not drain my battery. Unfortunately, marvel unlimited stops it from doing that 😔 Could've sworn that wasn't the case a few weeks ago. Please change it back 🙏

I used this app for a bit and can tell you right now, I won’t be continuing to pay for this after my subscription ends. Long story short, I don’t think it’s worth the price. Especially when you can read comics digitally in many other places. It was surprising to me how bad the suggested lists were. I don’t want 5 different lists of what’s most popular, I want real suggestions. Show me somewhere to start with! Truly shocked I didn’t see any sort of list trying to recommend more lesser known series, which feels like it would be a huge selling point for an app like this. Something like ‘enjoy Deadpool ? See how Gwen Stacy is as a deadpool instead of Wade Wilson! With gwenpool!’ Or any sort of thought or care put into these lists rather than seeing what’s trending, newly updated, and popular. There’s not a rating system to say if I liked or disliked the comics I’ve read to get better suggestions or any sort of algorithm. The app just suggests random stuff which usually ends up being what’s most popular anyway. There’s not a search feature within these lists either, only a sort feature (like a-z or publication order). Which doesn’t sound like a problem until you realize that if you were searching comics that had a specific character you have to look through “popular” or “a-z” which lists pretty much every single character in marvel comics so good luck finding them on a list you can only scroll up and down on. The web browser version of this app is missing essential features like NOT BEING ABLE TO USE YOUR LIBRARY OF SAVED COMICS! Despite Marvel Unlimited having been out for years. for an app that’s missing a lot of features that would make it function better, it’s almost insulting to charge $10 for a product that is so lacking. I enjoyed reading comics and found some series I enjoyed on here, which IS the main point of this app, so I can’t say it’s fully bad. But I’m defientely sticking to reading whatever comics I can find at public libraries from here on out.
  • Terrible UX

It’s fine once you are reading a particular comic, but the cryptic gestures needed to find your way back to a series, change viewing modes, switch to another comic, etc. make it miserable to use. Do I tap? Swipe? Which way? How many fingers? When does the X show up to get out? How do I find other books in a series? How do I find a new series to read? Why do some books scroll, some go page by page, and some go panel by panel? Just awful. I’m reading a series, a new issue comes out, how do A) find out and B) read the new issue? I end up just flailing at the screen and hoping it works out. This is not good UX.
