This app not only waste my 700+MB space, but also makes me regret my purchase of Brother printer. I would never buy another brother, they just so stupid. It keeps failing for non-existing network drive.

It worked great for me. It’s not filled with amazing features, but it does exactly what I need it to do and it’s free.

Has yet to be updated to run natively for MacOS on Apple Silicon. Still runs as Intel, which Apple is planning to retire and periodically nags users about after OS updates.
  • Hard to imagine a less useful app

I wanted to adjust scanner settings after tinkering in the web interface, went through the trouble of installing this, just for it to send me back to the same settings. Completely useless and the rest of it has a just downright hostile user interface. Consider hiring a UX designer

Poor design and UX. Poor implementation. I’m currently really enjoying having to reboot my scanner and close and restart the program each time in order to scan a document.
  • Wrong IP in App/Right IP in Mac

I’m uninstalled and reinstalled this app multiple times and it still has an outdated IP address. Trying to find the printer doesn’t work either in the app. The Mac Printers and Scanners app has the correct IP and I can print to it but no matter what I do, the official Brother app doesn’t find my printer, which will not allow me to scan documents.

It’s a simple, bulletproof scanning app. All you need.
  • Connectivity Failure

Following the recent software update to Version 15.0.1, this app can no longer connect to my Brother HL2280-DW Printer/Scanner. Other software packages work just fine, so the problem is clearly with the app rather than the computer or the network. (Mac mini M4 running MacOS 26.4, using a WiFi connection)
  • Unusable

This app has gotten progressively worse, and has just made my printer/scanner even more difficult to use. It used to be that the printer would connect and use AirPrint or whatever and work just fine. Now it seems that I always have to have this stupid app open for the printer to connect. Worse, now the app has apparently forgotten how to connect. The printer web page shows that the printer is online, the macOS print center says the printer is online and connected, but this damned stupid app can’t find the device. Nor will the scanner on the device connect to my computer easily the way it used to. Just about ready to toss the whole thing and buy a different brand.
