  • Great, but…

Love it. But the labels fade rather quickly.
  • The database function is not intuitive

It great to be able to interface a computer with the P-touch, but the process to map database fields is not intuitive. Suggestions: If I have a database with a multi-column CSV file, allow me to simply delete the columns that don’t matter. Typically I would only want the F1 field printed (others fields probably exist for another data purpose). The program could then default to the F1 without having to “connect fields”.
  • Broken under current Mac OS

Brother’s P-touch printer software is no longer communicating through Apple OS due to security communication protocol that Brother has not updated. Until Brother updates this, you can’t print to USB P-touch printers. The link to support is no help. All support is automated and, if beyond the ‘bot’s capabilities, the user is linked to a for-pay “Just Answer” site that will cost the user $65. Super bad customer support
  • QL-800 is now garbage

It appears that the move to Tahoe was too much for the Brother company. They took a perfectly good printer recently purchased and trashed it by failing to support the latest operating system. It seems impossible that the could screw this up as surely they monitor for upcoming changes that might affect their products and proactively release software to avoid sending customers to alternative products. That would be the logical pro-consumer thing to do but all they have done is assure themselves that users will not make the same mistake again and will choose a company that actually has an interest in its customers.
  • cuts waste

Q: Why do they make it cut off an inch piece every time you print a label? A: To sell more cartridges
  • Adequate

Adequate. Cannot be driving via an API, so it’s much less useful than it could be. Requiring an app to print is suboptimal
  • NOT EASY TO USE

Terrible buggy software that seems like it was vibe coded by a sub-par AI. Things don’t work right, horrible UX, all around bad.

After the MacOS 26.5 update this software no longer connects to ql-1100c. Tested printer on windows with no issue.

I update my Mac to ODS 26.5 and P-Touch doesn’t see my QL-810W USB. The Mac sees the printer and so does the Brother P-Touch editor app. I tried it on my MacBook Air and it works fine since I haven’t up dated to 26.5. I guess the app needs a update
