Many hidden and additional fees. Very expensive compared to other service providers. Had a billing dispute and customer service was worthless.

Google spams notifications everywhere, but completely fails to notify when the cellular plan is blocked pending payment. They turned my phone into a rock.
  • Does not support iPhone without eSIM

  • Service Never Worked But Charged Anyway

I switched from Verizon to Google FI but it never worked not even for one minute. They gave charged me for two months now. I canceled within 24 hours of no service. I had to pay Verizon to reconnect. I had many calls with Google FI and got constant false information. They admitted that it did not work and would never work but would still be charging me. How ridiculous! Buyer beware. I am an attorney in DC.

Maybe it’s my fault for not reading the entire terms of service but it would’ve been nice to know that the service suspends after an amount of time if you don’t log in from the US. I highly recommend against this for us government employees
  • Don’t not try to activate service while your already abroad

I lost my serve while traveling and when I got home the service was intermittent. The reason I left one star is because googlefi customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.

I registered for the 7 day free trial to see if the service was worth it as I travel internationally often. After following the instructions including re-starting my device, the app shows that I was still “Connecting to FI”. I gave it about 24 hours to connect, which it didn’t. The “high speed data” was .02mbps from a speed test I tried. I tried to trouble shooting by using the “Trial guide” links, none of which work. They all bring me to a page which reads “sorry this page can’t be found” I read online that deleting the App and the ESIM can sometimes help. I tried this in multiple variations, with and without a VPN, without a phone number and with my number which I would want transferred had the service worked. None of my attempts changed anything. A day later I tried reaching out to Google support through the FI app to help resolve the issue. I chose the chat option. The Rep told me to try deleting the app, restarting my phone and re-downloading the app. So I did. After which, I could not access the chat nor start a new one, and lo and behold, no fix. Still “Connecting to FI” so I chose the email option this time. I sent an email laying out the exact situation above, and have not heard anything in almost 48 hours. Now I have 2 days left of my 7 day trial, and the service still does not work. I feel like I did my due diligence and have tried every option available to me to fix this extremely basic problem, including things not in this review. I can’t attest to how the service functions when it actually works, because it doesn’t appear to work at all. It refuses to, and refuses to allow me to try and fix it. Therefore I am offering my opinion in the form of the very well deserved 1 star review.

I lost my network while at gym and it’s been over 2 hours of me waiting on call with them with no response. They are not worth the trouble
