  • Frustrations are the zero benefit

Won’t let me delete my old voice number. Help section gives instructions to click on options that simply don’t exist within the app. Maybe if I was on android it’d be correct. I was looking at the iOS help section so yeah save your data on downloading this worthless app
  • Verification is really stupid

So it’s really cool, but I find it really stupid how you need an ID to even make calls and you wouldn’t expect that since this game is literally rated 4 AND UP

It doesn’t let me do anything or sign in to my account and it’s just a bad company but I won’t sue you but I’m a nice person and I’m suing I just can’t do anything
  • Ambiguous name “voice”

The icon design and name give the user no idea that this is “Google voice”. Similarly notifications use the same vague icon and we have no idea what is providing the notification.

The app works great, and it’s really convenient for when I don’t want to give my main phone number, but calls can be spotty, and the new logo is ugly.
  • Amazingly bad on an iPhone

There are so many things wrong with this app particularly using it on an iPhone. 1. iPhone will pick up the Voicemail before Google Voice, so even though you have a custom Voicemail it'll go to your iPhone voicemail, which defeats the purpose. 2. When you're writing a text, it will only show you one line at a time so if you have a typo, it makes it extremely difficult to find it and fix it. 3. When you go to look at a photo that someone texted to you, if you try to pinch the photo to zoom in it'll close the photo on you unless you are perfectly in the middle. There are other flaws, but just these three alone are astonishing for a company this big to not actually try out the product they make. The only positive thing is that it's free. I would not pay $0.10 a month for this.

Update: 6/6/26 For the version history can we get a detailed description of the “What’s New” rather than “Stability and Performance Improvements”? I want to know the improvements going on under the hood 😎 Update: I have been using this app since the beginning and I'm extremely happy with 2.0 update. Special thanks to all the Devs and QA folks who made this happen. Keep the updates coming. I would like to get a form of the quick dial feature back if that's in the grand design. It made it easier to dial on the road. Thanks It works perfectly on my 4th gen iPod. This and whistle is truly a contract-less, free phone experience. Winning!!!! Just updated to iOS 5 and still working good Update: I couldn't log in earlier today but I figured it out. The app is asking for an email/pass but you have to put in a user/pass to log in.
  • Requires my ID now?

Was a good app/service until I tried to use it and it asked me to upload my ID. It’s a hard no for me. This is an insane requirement and a huge overreach by Google. If you’re looking to escape the Google ecosystem, let this be your driving force.
  • Suspended for no reason!

Google suspended my GV account that I had for three years because they said I violated the Terms of Service (spoiler: I did not). Now they will not restore a number I ported in! Be VERY careful using GV for anything important. I’ve filed complaints with the FCC and BBB. Let’s see what happens…
