Exactly as the title suggests, there is simply no option to indent the first line of your paragraph on mobile. This is by far the worst oversight I’ve ever seen in a mobile app ever, let alone one made by a multimillion dollar corporation. It may seem almost pedantic to feel so strongly about this issue, however this app is called “Google Docs” it is a document app, an app that allows you to write text for the purpose presumably of writing some sort of long form writing or written text, and you cannot indent your paragraphs on the mobile version of this app. I mean come on. This is the start of every single form of long form written communication that exists not just in academia, but every single form of the English written word. This is an incredible oversight that is frankly unacceptable. There are forms on their own website about this from a literal decade ago, and this just has not been addressed. Meaning google has had it brought to their attention for over 10 years that their DOCUMENT APP cannot INDENT A PARAGRAPH! How can you call yourself a document app when you literally cannot format your work to match the normal format of any piece of literature in western history? This oversight alone genuinely makes the mobile version of this app completely and utterly useless without pairing it directly with a desktop as well. This cannot be used as a standalone application, without the desktop application this app genuinely is useless and that alone is the reason for the one star review. Aside of that one issue, there are others, but it genuinely is not worth to even consider if the most basic, bare-bones function of literature that is how every single piece of written English work begins cannot be achieved. There is no point to consider anything outside of it until that is addressed. This app cannot receive higher than a one star review until it can perform the basic functionality it’s made for, that being to write a written document. You cannot currently achieve that goal at current with this app alone. This is fundamentally unacceptable. The app paired with the desktop application of course is useful, however if should have the basic functionality of being able to write a document as a standalone application. Until this app is able to achieve that functionality I genuinely cannot in good faith give this app higher than one star, because it simply is just not an document creator at all, it is a way to view the documents you’ve already made on it’s parent desktop application. I would suggest uninstalling this application from your phone until this fundamental feature is added and addressed by google. Until then, I would suggest to use one of the other hundreds of free document creators on the AppStore (all that are made by companies that dwarf the size and likeness of google). This is frankly unacceptable at the size of google’s corporation.

Technology is supposed to make life easier. The only thing it’s done is made like much more complicated.
