This app is missing so many features of the nest app that it would take too long to list them all. Even just visually, it is sadly lacking.

The cameras is good but they are useless only show still pictures no videos

Misinterprets the voice and play unasked

She makes assumptions about my life while listening in on me. Unacceptable She can’t remember to say a phone number correctly in xxx-xxx-xxxx format. Everything I ask her to remember is forgotten even when she confirms she will not forget . Then apologies for her MISTAKES it’s exhausting

When adjusting the temperature or fan for the thermostat it doesn’t register and you have to keep trying several times before it takes.

Since updating this app my Google Home devices keep going offline after several hours. I have followed all the troubleshooting recommendations including uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I have checked and double checked all my iPhone settings and made sure background refresh is ON and locations set to ALWAYS. My phone and app are all updated. The app is good when it’s working but now I have to reinstall it everyday if I want to use it. HELP‼️ THE FIX: For those seeking a fix for Google Home / Google Nest devices showing offline, this is something I stumbled across that worked for me. Had “devices offline” issues for months (possibly over a year). Reconnecting only worked for a few hours, then it would go offline again daily. Even tried setting up automations to maintain connection—didn’t help. Fix that worked: Reset Network Settings on iPhone/iPad (Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings) After reconnecting Wi-Fi, everything came back online and has stayed stable—even recovered after a 24+ hour internet outage. Not guaranteed for everyone, but this finally solved it after nothing else worked.

The remote feature works when it wants (rarely). It will say the tv is not connected to the WiFi even when it is. It even stops working in the middle of you using it.

Google nest refuses to bring up weather radar. Also acts stupid for simple commands. Is this a purposeful dumbing down so I’ll buy a replacement?

Zooming in while reviewing video is a hassle because it constantly returns the zoom to the original position at the end of the clip. This makes it difficult to review any of the details within your video timeline.
