Terrible UI - the app is slow to load, the wifi app is confusing, setting up devices is a mess.

I love google home allows me to stay close to my home when I’m away

It seems like I need to reset the links too often. I’m frustrated by the fact that they don’t stay when the app is updated.

In emergencies, video does not load even on great internet. Do not use Google Home for anything you care about!

Worse all the time. Can't even stream iheart radio anymore. Says that it's doing it but then nothing happens.

This app is very buggy, critically when it comes to Nest Doorbell cams: in literally over 100 tries the doorbell cams have NEVER worked a single time when I click into the app when someone rings the doorbell. The app opens, the screen stays black for a minute, then shows an error. Half the time I open the app and click on any camera the load takes > 30 seconds. It’s not a connectivity issue, I consistently have >900kbps up and down, and *round trip* latency of under 50ms. Compared to the Nest app, the camera controls (viewing events, swiping through history) is so bad it’s almost unusable. Oh yeah, another super fun unnecessary invasion of privacy: the Nest app would check to see which network you were on to see if you were home, and would then do smart things with your cameras and thermostats based on your home/away status. Now though, the ONLY way the features that make these devices worth having can be enabled is by sending your location data to Google, 24/7/365. Typical GPS resolution in a city is about 18 inches. Google’s location polling has been demonstrated numerous times to be roughly once per minute, and more while driving. That’s ****500,000**** locations collected per year, completely needlessly. There’s no reason that Google can’t continue using which WiFi network you’re on to determine your home/away status. This is a disgusting invasion of privacy, motivated by nothing but corporate greed. Moving off of Nest once a single camera dies, solely because of how bad this app performs.

REALLY do not like this app! I just got a new ac system (REALLY expensive- I think we can blame tariffs for some of that 🤬) . I just changed the setting when I was trying to close the app even though there is a schedule in place! ANNOYING! The other thing I don’t like is what MORON thought using 2 similar shades of blue for stage 1 and stage 2 in usage??? Stupid.

Terrible camera quality, freezes frequently and takes forever to load live video
