Google Home

I like using my Google Assistant to turn on lights, ask questions and play music. I will save for awhile now, it takes me more than 2 tries to connect the lights and music. That is frustrating and I start to use a louder voice command which makes no sense, it is just from my impatience. I have looked up why this happens and what to do, but it is all too complicated for me.

Bring back the Nest app this app is terrible, trying to view in real time is impossible and when I get a notification all it ever tells me when I try to view it is that camera is unavailable 🙄

I’ve used their products for years, especially the Google doorbells and I find the support and the working of it all to be outstanding! Keep up the good work Google!

When adjusting the temperature or fan for the thermostat it doesn’t register and you have to keep trying several times before it takes. It also says my AC is running even though it’s not.

When you use dark mode or clear mode, the widgets have all the options show up in white with no way to see what you’re clicking.

Really cool feature with this app: every time it updates, the smart lights it’s synced with don’t work for 24 hours. Awesome!

I am writing as a Google camera user who is very disappointed with the lack of notification and alert tone options in the Google Home app. Google is a much bigger company than Ring, yet Ring provides a better security-camera notification experience. Google Nest cameras should not feel weaker when it comes to something as important as home security alerts. Security cameras are supposed to alert homeowners clearly and quickly. Compared to Ring, Google Nest camera notifications feel weak, limited, and not security-focused enough. Users should be able to choose louder, more noticeable notification tones, customize alert sounds by camera, and separate important camera alerts from regular phone notifications. This is not a minor convenience issue. For cameras, doorbells, packages, people, vehicles, and motion alerts, the notification sound matters. If the alert is too soft or too generic, people can miss important activity at their home. Please improve Google Nest camera notifications by adding: 1. Custom alert tones for Google Home and Nest cameras. 2. Different sounds for doorbell press, person detected, package detected, vehicle detected, and motion. 3. Louder emergency-style alert options. 4. Per-camera notification sounds. 5. Better iPhone notification control similar to Ring. Google Nest cameras are too expensive to have notification controls that feel this limited. Ring is clearly ahead in this area, and Google needs to improve this if it wants Nest cameras to feel like a serious home security system.
