The app seems to have slowed down some over the last year or so. I just bought a 2026 computer hoping it would help, but there are still long lag times when I’m pulling up documents.

I have no complaints regarding this app. It is free and it works extremely well.

The April 2026 update for Windows has broken clipboard syncing and lots of other functionality.
  • Works well for basic functionality

This application works well connecting to a single windows system at a time. If you are running VM's within the host you are connecting to or have other windows open, thehy are resized at random.
  • Sucks so bad

Get use to reading those words because you’ll see them about every 15 minutes. My Mac Studio m4 64 gb computer cant maintain a connection to my windows 11 laptop over ethernet on the same lan. Ever since Remote Desktop become “windows App” its been dog **** one of the last remaining useful windows applications has become yet another continuous source of frustration. Thanks Microsoft, I bet you try to put copilot in it next.

I am on a filtered network. I can connect to remote VPS on a windows machine and cannot connect from a Mac machine from the same network. Seems supported protocols are different. If you fix this, it will be great.
  • Extraordinarily Needy, Changes for the sake of it

How exquisite must the corporate disfunction be that it results in the most mundane of single-purpose, low-depth, and functionally unchanging utilities constantly pestering users for a star rating? I do the same thing with this app I did the day it (Remote Desktop) launched. I connect to machines I don’t love and for which no one can have any passion. That’s all. It can never be special, yet it NEEDS my approval. At least they keep moving icons around, renaming things, and putting release notes in my face. That way, I know I’m benefitting from the never-own economy.
  • This app is amazing with Apple Products.

So I never write a review. But after using this on iPad and my MacBook Air for a year now. This app makes connecting to my Windows servers extremely easy. 5 Stars.
