I can’t change user settings. Better decide what your email is for the rest of your life because if you ever need to change it, they make it impossible. Nothing happens fluidly. The app always takes me to the website and the website says to use the app. Whoever heads this App needs to be transferred because this makes no sense for actual families.
  • Always struggles to process

This app is always having connectivity and processing issues. Sometimes it can process adding money to your child’s account, other times it just stops working completely. Never consistent.
  • Irritating at best

2 adults with two kids and schedules are broken or don’t register when changed. My wife and I compare screens often and neither match. When a kid turns 13, Microsoft will tell them how to get around the limits you set.
  • Nice thought

This seemed perfect to set up the account for my daughter to be able to play Minecraft and have a username. I have tried for 2 hours! There are almost more glitched than Windows ME.... I had for codes sent to her email. Not a single one worked. I tried making a new email. I get to various points in the process and it tells me either "oops, we encountered an error," or just gets stuck in a loop.
  • Great… when it’s working.

The app interface is good and the expected functionality is about what you need, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. You will have random weeks where it won’t sync and your child with a 1 hour limit has somehow been playing for four (and no he didn’t hack it). When it’s working it is great.
  • Verifications

The amount of ridiculous verifications to confirm I’m human are absolutely out of hand. You can barely get through them as a human. I am considering canceling my kids game pass because it’s so difficult to use.
  • Microsoft just keeps getting worse and worse

Took me 20 minutes to add funds to my son’s account. Had to jump through 20 different hoops to add money. The app did not work. I ended up having to go through the website and jump through another 10 hoops. Shouldn’t be this complicated.
  • Constantly Broken

It would be great if Xbox allowed parents to flexibly set game time and reward kids for doing something useful. For example, kids could earn game time for certain achievements, and parents could set those rules themselves. This would make it more of a motivation for kids to do something productive before they play. We all want our kids not just to be into games, but to grow into healthy and smart individuals. It would be great if Microsoft supported this approach and making gaming part of a balanced and motivating experience rather than just pure entertainment. No offense, but such an idea would be a lot more convincing.
